Actually the replacement I received looks nothing like the illustration and is much larger. The disadvantage of its size is that it makes my camcorder - a JVC - clumsier to handle because it sits out much further than the original and the wire that connects the battery to the camera is a potential threat to getting a poke-in-the-eye. It also makes operating the camcorder awkward as both it and my operator's thumb vie for the same space behind the camcorder. However, the camera is still operable which is why I gave it an "I Like It" thumbs up although in actual fact I'm a don't know - yet! Will know better after my trip abroad in May when I'll be using the camcorder quite a lot
