Well-designed, Only Fair to Middlin' QC
Very well-designed update of the classic Sharpfinger, but the two I received (first one went back) both had defects on the bone scales. The one that went back had a large and obvious grinding divot on the right scale. The second one is acceptable, but barely, as it is missing one of the "saw cuts" in the bone handle. I'm taking it as "character," but honestly it looks like they employ very fast workers for QC, or the sight impaired!I still hand out 5 stars because the "generational" update feels great in the hand, and handles every bit as well as the original Sharpfinger. I was skeptical of the new hollow grind, and the narrower bone scales, but the 152OTG feels great in the hand and the blade is sweet -- it needed some stropping, but it takes a great edge and has held it well so far.Somebody complained about rust. High carbon steel rusts if not cared for, duh. Don't put it away wet and you're fine.Great knife that would be even better if this U.S. made version weren't 4 times as expensive as the Chinese one. OTOH, I am proud to pay American workers!!

Beautiful, classic folder with zero detent
My first Old Timer. Looks great, cuts nicely and is well priced; I especially love the bone handle. Beautiful. No detent to speak of however - the blade opens and closes without any pull, so the walk and talk is…nothing to see or speak of. That’s a personal taste, so adjust accordingly. No regrets purchase for me.

Very good-looking knife.
I have had the Chinese made cheaper sharpfinger on the farm I worked at for about four months before giving it away to a fellow farmer that still uses it for farming. Been meaning to replace it ever since. I won’t get into it but the general sharpfinger design is a great belt-EDC for just about anything you might encounter except for heavy wood processing and batoning. When camping I pair it with a small Gransfor brux hatchet. This “generational” knife will not be used for farming as that is very harsh on a blade but for skinning as it was intended to be used. She is a looker- cleaner lines than the Chinese made one, nice bone scales, and super duper sharp. I cut into space-time when I unsheathed it! Solid sheath- a set up from a factory buck knife sheath. Very pleased. I would highly recommend getting three- one for your future grown up teen, one to keep pristine, and one as a user! It’s a sharpfinger: you can’t go wrong.

Beautiful knife. Very poor quality control.
I will preface by saying I love Old Timers. I own a good handful of them and they serve me extremely well. I consider myself loyal to the brand, even if this experience has been less than ideal. This knife is beautiful. I love the size, the shape, and the materials. I love that this has a bone handle and a carbon blade. This knife would be wonderful if whatever is going on with the manufacturer’s quality control were remedied. Here is my experience:I purchased the first knife to receive it with deep cracks and chips in the bone handle. I sent it back in exchange to get another one. This one had a beautiful, flawless bone handle. The blade, however, wobbled (audibly) when folded shut and sometimes, gravity would allow the blade to come out unintentionally. The problem didn’t stop here, though, as once I opened the knife one time, the locking mechanism got stuck somehow, refusing to lock the blade in place, remedying this knife unsafe for use. I sent it back as a return. My husband, knowing how much I had hoped to get a good quality version of this knife, ordered another for me. This one also came with damages to the bone handle, but I decided I would just get over those since it seemed to work well, otherwise. A half of a day’s light use later and the locking mechanism messed up just as the one before did, rendering it unsafe for use. This is a knife I truly wanted, but the quality control with this knife, in particular, is simply not up to par. Ideally, these kinks will be worked through and this knife will be what I had hoped it would be.

A return to what made old timer great, with a caveat.
First, the knife is solid. Lockup is good, steel performs as expected for 1095, the materials of the body are well chosen and executed. It really is an old timer worthy of the name from before the brand was sold off. Now, the caveat. It isn't priced right. It's twenty bucks too high at best, and it could stand to be half of what it costs. As much as I'm happy with it in use, as much as I'm happy with the brand having this line made in the US, it simply isn't priced competitively with other knives of similar quality. If you don't care about the price point, and you miss having an old timer knife, or want to share what that used to mean with someone new, it's awesome.

Worth every penny
I am very very picky about my knives. I grew up on old school Case and old timer knives that a quick run through a fine sharpener paired with a strap and ypu could due surgery. This knife is that old school feel. The handle is square but if you know how to index a knife it's perfect. I can't wait to process a deer with it. The curve of it is perfectly designed to cut up meat or navigating processing an animal.

Blade tarnished fast
Very very sharp. Holds an edge a lot longer than other old timers I’ve had. Only draw back is the shiny blade didn’t hold its shine. I’ve had it only months and the blade has rusted quite a bit
