Punchy little speakers at an affordable price point
I've done a number of audio upgrades to numerous vehicles in the past, so I am no stranger to a simple speaker swap. Given the weird speaker size in the C pillars of the PT Cruiser, I found these. My first time using JBL for audio. But the price was right, and reviews were solid. The quality has not dissappointed, they feel of solid quality like they should last. The sound quality has a nice well rounded sound stage - perfectly adequate for the rear of the vehicle. Mine are powered by a 4 channel kicker crossover amplifier and not the head unit, so with the volume up they are nice and punchy with no distortion of muddy audio. Sound is nice and clear throughout the volume range. Installation was a breeze, they fit right in with a few millimeters to spare on the magnet and a support beam on the body of my vehicle. The only downside (if you can call it one) is there were no included wires with the speakers. Usually when I buy Sony/Pioneer/Infinity they always come with 2 pairs of wires I can plug into the speakers and crimp onto the existing harness. No big deal, I just soldered the wires directly for a secure connection. If you're on the fence about these, they are great speakers and worth taking a punt on them. I have no experience with them being driven by the head unit, but by an amplifier they are great.

Great low cost upgrade
I bought an old beater car to use in town and save gas. It had an old beat up Kenwood with no Bluetooth in it. Because this car is old and high mileage I didn’t want to spend a lot. This radio was a great choice. Super easy to set up. My only negative is the display doesn’t get very bright. But other than that I love it.You have Bluetooth and usb and aux line to use. Actually you have 2 Bluetooth. The coolest part is if you already have a Sony Bluetooth speaker this radio uses the same app and you can control everything though your phone. I added 4 new 6.5 inch JBL speakers and the sound is 1000 times better. No it is not high end and not for the pickiest of listeners. But for the money it was a great upgrade to my old clunker.

Perfect crisp sound
Man these are crisper than McDonald’s fries. Vocals sound amazing, easy to install, I went with the jbl all around system upgrade. The loudness of size in these are unmatched.

A big upgrade over the stock speakers, well worth the price
These speakers are big upgrade over the stock speakers. The tweeters are compact and fit well in a 2014 Jeep JK if you have the surface mount pods on top of the dash, just remove the old and slide in the new with a little silicone sealer to hold them in.Overall the sound is clear and the bass is pretty good with an aftermarket Alpine upgraded system. The sound is a little strident but this is most likely due to the lack of power from the head unit. Add an amp and a subwoofer and these should come on to their own quite nicely.I do have two gripes however....1. The speakers come with NO WIRE... This is a bit odd since the tweeters have less than a foot of wire leads. The spade connectors on the tweeters must also be cut and stripped to use the supplied crossover.. pretty odd considering these are made to be placed separately in the vehicle but there isn't adequate wire to do so..2. The speaker adapters have too many gaps to make an air tight seal. Yes JBL supplies foam tape, but only enough for one side of the adapter, leaving the other side to leak air badly and sacrifice bass response, Again pretty odd..If they included the wire needed for the tweeters, and enough foam tape to seal the speakers correctly this would have been a 5 star review. As it sits right now just be aware you will need to shop for a few things to do the job correctly.

2015 Subaru BRZ front speaker upgrade
Definitely an upgrade for a 2015 Subaru BRZ. Sits flush and had to modify the speaker grill. But a huge upgrade from oem.

Very efficient speakers play great without external amp.
Bought this set for the mid-bass driver for the rear doors of my VW. I used my own high end MB quart crossover which resulted in a very nice performance. The mid-bass drivers have a very nice rubber surround and the cone has a plus one design so even though these are 6.5” they are like some other brands 6.75” designs. This results in a lower frequency response for more satisfying bass performance. I used dynamat sound insulation which I highly recommend to both increase your bass performance (better sealing) and to lower rad noise. I did not install the tweeter since the VW oem Blupunkt tweeters are larger and sound great with midrange from this set. I did preview the set with the JBL tweeter using a bench home audio amplifier that outputs over 100 watts per channel. I found the sound to be high quality and I feel these would work well for a majority of listeners. The included crossovers are adequate and run at 6db per octave. If possible I would highly recommend considering an upgrade crossover with a 12db per slope design. This is a minor thing but would be an affordable way to bring the set in competition with more expensive products. The tweeter is fairly small in diameter which makes it more flexible for tight installations and there are options for flush mount with angle tilting adjustment, and surface mount options. However, a larger diameter tweeter would have probably resulted in a nicer lower end performance within the higher frequency spectrum. However, the strength of this unit is it’s ability to output with minimal power input. The sensitivity of this set is rated at 92 db’s and that along with a 3 Ohm impedance rating means that they work great with any factory stereo unit. Overall, you can’t beat the value and quality performance of this set.

Good quality
Love them. They are loud and have great clarity. I am running them on a Kenwood deck. Not a lot of bass but nothing a small sub won’t fix.
