Have you pushed the reset switch /button on the bottom of the sack where the music comes from and where you switch on this usually works. Also what stops him is if the lights he is carrying become caught up on the Christmas tree - ensure the back of the ladder is free of branches without loosing the effect of him climbing the tree.
