Like every other book
Just like every other parenting book. I will say it was good information at the beginning but there’s always the “don’t do this” but never the “do this instead” which is what I need. I need to know what to do. I didn’t find it helpful.

Great information for beginners in ADHD
Published in 2021, up to date information. (Not this book) but have read 10 year old publishing dated other books and THIS book was much better to inform the person (parent or grandparent) of current information on the journey through beginning ADHD journey. 😀

Largely Great Advice
I have mixed feelings toward this book. For the most part, the author does a decent job providing advice to parents on how to handle kids who exhibit ADHD behavior, from a social/teaching perspective to health and nutrition. It does cover the temptations of today and challenges that are associated with raising kids in a modern era. However, the author implies that child themselves are different today. I don’t agree. Kids have the same needs and desires as any kid from any time period. It’s their environment that’s changed. Consequently, their challenges are distinctively different. When the author steers away from generational differences and focuses on these environmental differences, he’s right on target.

Easy to understand
Only took me 2 days to go through this book. Very easy to read and great for beginners like myself.

Good so far but finding it hard with some choice of language
This book is helpful so far, but I find it really upsetting that the author refers to ADHD as an “Illness” throughout - it does talk about the many many wonderful attributes of those with ADHD, so I find it counter intuitive and offensive to think of our many children as having an illness, I think rather it would be better to use language such as neuro-diverse.

A book that tells you very little
I was hoping for a book with some concrete suggestions on how to help kids with ADHD, preferably based on evidence and research. The few suggestions this book gives are either patently obvious or consist of 'talk to your child's therapist' - useless if your child doesn't have a therapist, and superfluous if he/she does. And there are pretty much no references to research or evidence-based studies. Basically, if you were given a couple of months to Google everything you could on ADHD, the result would be this book. It's so lightweight, you almost wonder how it got published - there are actually some sections that consist of a short paragraph.
