PRinter wouldnt work.Had a 450 printer for 5 years, was great so thought Id upgrade to this as the 450 had started to struggle a bit recognising label ends.This "upgade" is a total scam. DYMO have added RFID tags to the labels, and designed the printer to only work with their own labels. Which are 10x the price.I use 500 labels a day, so using this would have cost me an extra £5,000+ a year.This isn't mentioned on the listing so beware.Now switching over to a Zebra printer.

This really is one sexy label maker! it is up there for label making machines! Very easy to use on the desktop app to create a label with the possibilities of design - endless. A quick print and easy removal of label and a strong adhesive back. If you can afford it and use a lot a printed labels, buy this machine. Its Dymo, you know its quality.

I have had to return this as I was not initially aware that its DRM locked to its own labels and you cannot use any other labels at all.Dymos own labels cost 5x more than others, so it becomes hugely expensive.This is appalling practise and should not be allowed.

In have used a Dymo LabelWriter 400 Turbo for over 12 years. It has sat on my desk and provided excellent service for all that time connected to my iMac. Sadly with the latest version of MacOs 13 the Dymo software is no longer supported so I had no option but to upgrade to the latest LabelWriter Turbo which is the 550. I so wish I hadn't! The software which is supposed to be the latest and best has actually removed the main feature which I use. If you are using MacOs you can no longer access your Apple Contacts directly for printing address labels. This is INSANE! The platform is now heavily slanted agains MacOs and I am bitterly disappointed that this was not flagged up. How on earth can an 'upgrade' prove to set users back to the functionality of more than 10 years ago. Disgraceful.

Well done Dymo, you have well and truly killed all credibility you had in the thermal printing world by making users buy your extortionately high priced labels.BEWARE YOU CANNOT USE COMPATIBLE/ALTERNATIVE LABELS WITH THIS MACHINE!Only official Dymo labels work.Dymo labels are 8x the price of compatible labels from other brands.If you're looking for a label printer that is cost effective to run then look elsewhere immediately!
