This drill press is clearly the best in class. From its cvt transmission to it's more than adequate motor, it runs true and accurately, it has many features that make using the machine easy and pleasurable.First, the CVT transmission makes speed changes effortless. No more belt adjustment, just turn the lever to the speed that you want. I love the digital RPM meter, and I was able to get the spindle and Chuck to run true to .0015. I did have to knock it out, clean it, and reinstall a couple of times to make sure it was absolutely clean, but once it was, it's far superior than what it's necessary for woodworking.The table is square and true, and all the adjustments are relatively easy, with the exception of the table rotation. The table mounts into its arm far too tightly, making it very difficult to rotate the table. It's a minor nuisance, but something that would be easy to fix at the factory with a little adjustment to the milling machine.Other than that, it's a great tool at a great price.

This is my first experience with a Wen power tool. The first thing I noticed was that the Wen was expertly packed with sufficient foam protection and arrived on time in top condition with all necessary parts included. It is much beefier than I expected so it is advisable to have another person assist in lifting it (or leave the parts in the box and lift them to the table stand to assemble it where it will be housed). The speed control works well and is easily adjusted. I did not test it for accuracy, but it certainly will be sufficient to reduce speed for some operations (e.g., forstner bit drilling) and increase it for others. The digital readout is very handy. The laser guide was spot on out of the box and needed no adjustment. The built-in work light is also helpful and sheds sufficient light for close bit placement. The table with adjustable fence and stop block is also a good bargain and I have found it useful. The only issue with it may be the plastic hold downs used to secure it to the cast iron benchtop as they are likely to have a short life. But, they should be fairly easy to replace.I have not used the drill extensively yet, but my first impressions are very favorable. Much better than I expected at that price.

Great little press. Very sturdy and much more precise than my small HF press. A couple things - the variable speed is GREAT except the lever and mechanism were very tight and difficult to move. Nothing in the instructions about this, but the unit can be adjusted and there are a couple key lubrication spots - plus after some use the arm is now perfect. 2nd, I replaced the supplied chuck with a more precision keyless chuck. The chuck center has almost no run out. I love it!! Usually lower cost drill presses are terrible, this one hits the spot.

I have several Wen products. I am a hobbyist, and expense is always an issue of good enough without breaking the bank. This drill press has all the features needed and the size needed for my crafts. Very well made, very sturdy. Great value.

WEN Drill Press & Table: A Woodworker's TakeAs a woodworker, I tested the WEN 4214T drill press and DPA2412T table. Here's the gist:Drill Press: Good value for the price, powerful enough for most woodworking tasks, offers variable speed and adjustable quill for precision.Table: Spacious, includes a fence and stop block for accuracy, removable insert for through-drilling. MDF construction is sturdy but might not be ideal for heavy-duty use. I would actually advise mounting it with recessed bolts into your drill metallic table as the clasps seemed to move without doing so.Overall: A solid combo for beginner and intermediate woodworkers. Consider a more robust option for professional, heavy-duty use. Also honestly was not a major fan of the table. I would advise a rockler or grizzly aftermarket table for this drill press.

Works quite well and easy to use, however could wish that speed could be adjusted less than 580 rpm.
