Amazing Laptop - Just not for my purposes
I bought this from Amazon Warehouse at an absolute bargain. Over 60% discount than if you bought new.The specs lived up to expectations, upgrading it to have extra ram and ssd space was easy, despite reviews of having to be careful about the cabling. (Which you do, but there's enough room you don't have to disconnect the wires to get access to the ssd or ram)However...I bought this laptop primarily because AMD are very generous with their GPU VRAM. 12gb of vram is a big upgrade from my previous 6gb. HOWEVER. I need this VRAM for AI technologies and modelling. What I didn't know, prior to my purchase, is that AMD is sorely lacking in support for such tools. This laptop falls square into the territory of the many unsupported AMD gpus. Sadly. After 3 days of trial and error, I returned it. Additionally, my emulating tools for mobile were broken too. So I was ill-prepared to step into the world of AMD. It's back to Nvidia for me.If you're interested in purely gaming, go for it. It should probably be fine.I'm also a little worried about sturdiness due to the thin lid and thin frame, feels a little accident prone.

The perfect laptop ruined by some silly design decisions
Reviewing G513QY-HQ008WI am not going to praise this laptop as I agree with the positive aspects mentioned on the five star reviews, I am just going to state the things that are horribly wrong with this laptop that made it a deal breaker for me:1. The HDMI port does not connect straight to the GPU and it's NOT 2.1. That means you don't get high refresh rates, which I could live with. What I absolutely cannot live with is that the HDMI doesn't do sound passthrough to your sound system, you only get stereo sound out of it, it is impossible to change it so you get surround sound out of it. My 6 year old laptop gets me 5.1 out of the HDMI cable, and this one doesn't. Big no no for me this one. Why would you think is okay to have an HDMI port that doesn't do surround sound in this day and age?2. The ram that everyone else has been telling about is not dual rank, therefore if you want to get the full power out of the laptop you will need to upgrade it. I heard newer models had sorted this out, I guess not. So add at least 60 pounds to the cost of this laptop3. The slashing sword sound it makes when it boots, not a huge deal as I know you can probably disable it, but man it's annoying.4. This model is 50 pounds cheaper in the Asus website at the time of this writing, not a huge deal, but still a bit annoying

Great value for money !
Great performance, would definitely recommend if your budget is low, its bang for your buck. Upgraded ram to a low density one and bought faster SSD, you could upgrade WiFi as well, all those upgrades wont cost you much and you can compete with 3070 and 3080 laptops which are more expensive.

Excellent value to performance ratio
Love this laptop top, great battery life for office work and amazing gaming capabilities. I did up grade the RAM(Corsair Vengence) but think my unit already had okay RAM as I didn't see much improvement. Also added a second HD - 2TB M.2 drive, great to upgrade options. WiFi is next although I find it okay tbh. Highly recommend. 👍
