Good stuff!

I have been very happy with this Kevin Murphy Rough Rider styling clay for a very long time and found it on Amazon and it seems to be working the same as the stuff I was getting from the hairdresser. I have tried others from this brand, but this is the one that works the best for me. I like that it doesn't make my hair feel greasy or too heavy, it is easy to use, holds my hair nicely and lasts me for many months, so I think it is a great value for the money. It also has a pleasant scent that isn't too overpowering either.

Had a hard time finding this product for a while, so I'm glad it's back! I love the hold and texture that it gives my hair. A little goes A LONG way so definitely find the right amount that works. I like to work it between my hands and let my hands get a little warm before applying. It makes it easier to work into my hair.

The product itself is solid however i wish it had more grit to it since it is a clay. The hold is not the best however the style you go for looks great once you set it in. The ingredients are sweet and it smells pretty decent.

I started buying Kevin Murphy Roughrider for my husband years ago from the salon where I got my hair done. I loved the Kevin Murphy products they used on me so I figured he would like this. And I was right. Then along comes Covid n the salon was shut down. It has since reopened, but during that time, he was running low on this product. I checked Amazon n they had it so I bought it n have continued to purchase it from Amazon ever since bc the price was less than the salon price. The great thing about this product is that a little product goes a long way. Yes, it’s pricey ( for our pocket book) but it lasts a good six months even with daily usage. No flaking, it doesn’t make ur hair look greasy n he can style his hair for whatever life throws at him. It’s a great product that works using minimal effort. I just asked him if he would recommend it to anyone else n he said without hesitation, absolutely!

Doesn't even compare to Kevin Murphy's Knight Rider- which I use over this all the time now. This leaves hair looking stuff is super dry when applying and feels nonmalleable in your hands. Even made hair later in the day gross to the touch, for lack of a better word. And it is really white when applying, which doesn't ever go away- which looks flaky. Bad if you have dark black hair or similar. Just all around not happy with it. I'll stick with Knight Rider. Use: medium hold for thick hair, short. Also use for malleable hold sometimes in wavy, beach hair. Did not fit bill.

Great product...easy to apply and lasts all day

As a hair product, it works great. It has fantastic hold that lasts all day. I'm about half way through the container and I've been using it for 3 months, so it should last at least 6 months total. Unfortunately, the execution on the product is very poor and there are just too many problems with it for me to recommend. This stuff is literally clay. Like imagine clay from art class in elementary school. That's the consistency of this stuff. Imagine trying to put that stuff in your hair. It's hard to get out of the tin, and it's very hard to put it in. So hard to put in it's agonizing and painful because you're ripping your hair out to get it in and spread evenly. If you wet your fingers before hand to remedy this, then the product loses all hold and doesn't work anymore. And since it's clay, it clogs your sink drain. So don't even consider buying this unless you can easily get into your drain and put a snake down it to clear it out about every 2 weeks. The biggest other complaint is this product contains diatomaceous earth. I can't comprehend why in the world you would put this in a hair product, but the clay goes on clear, and the diatomaceous earth goes on white. So it gives you the appearance of having really bad dandruff.
