There's no schematic diagram available for this item, and it had some strange performance issues. The volume control pot went from very low to extremely high in just a tweak. Looking at the application notes for the LM386 amplifier chip, I saw that most of the reference circuits had a small resistor in parallel with the loudspeaker. When I put a 10-ohm resistor in parallel with my speaker, the amplifier behaved normally.

Not much noise. One out of the pack had a broken potentiometer, but that's easily replaceable if you're handy with a soldering iron. No way to mount it directly. You get what you pay for, but they definitely do the job.

Easy to connect and it works

If you are familiar with the lm386, that’s what you are getting . The lm386 uses a single rail voltage rather than a dual rail of +v and -v. They have about a 200 times amplification and are basically the only single rail amplifier out there. The lm386 IC chips are cheap but then you have to build a bunch of parts around it. This is a nice little package and you get 5 for a fair price. The wattage is about 125 milliwatts into an 8 ohm load. Decent for small speakers .

Though good sound & all, this will NOT work with ISD1820! I prooved this works fine with inputs from the most, driving it with ISD1820 record/placback circuit will just not work! I looked into many possibilities but gave up after a long while. Do not have the time to go deeper and find the cause.
