Excellent tool, do it as just as they explain on this Amazon site and it does the job in seconds. Makes the job simple.

NOT FOR BICYCLES. This is by far the most robust chain breaker I have ever used. However: (1)The push-pin that is used to push the chain link pin through is the same diameter, if not just a hair larger than the pin on the bicycle chain. It pushed the pin trough but then it would not come out. (2)The bolt is not long enough to clamp down on the narrow bicycle chain. I would buy this product 10x in a row over any other if I had a motorcycle or something with a larger chain. I'm giving it 5 stars, bang-for-the-buck, it is by far the best. It arrived early. when I wanted a refund. it was the fastest refund I even got from an Amazon purchase. However: IT IS NOT FOR BICYCLES even though the product description says it is.

Works great. Just need to use it right. There’s two screws, make sure to back out the pin before starting, line it up and then screw both screws back in, if you leave the pin out you’ll just bend it. Instructions would’ve been nice.

This tool is designed to push/press a pin through the bike chain to link and delink the chain. The pusher pin that does this operation is too large in diameter. What this causes is stretched out chain holes. With the holes being stretched out, the pin for the chain has nothing to retain it. So not only did I waste money on this highly crafted Chinese made tool, but also now my chain link is ruined. I wish I could have given less than 1 star.

My 2004 Honda Shadow was overdue for a new chain. I'm going to assume that my new rider overzealousness cut the chain's lifespan in half. That having been said, this tool made short work of the 525 chain, allowing me to install the new unit without any delay. The only complaint that I had was that I had a bit of a tough time holding onto the handle and spinning the pin in but that has more to do with my hands than the tool itself. Once I had it in place and a proper grip, it was done before I knew it.
