Performance-wise, Davis Vantage Pro2 stations are dependable and its user-interface is easy to explore. Davis Vantage Pro2 station is our workhorse, backed by the largest network of automated weather stations (AWS) in Southeast Asia for five years now. I can vouch to its ease of use, dependability and accuracy. Most importantly, its ease of maintenance being a part of the tech crew, and a meteorologist by profession myself.There is no doubt that Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 product line is a solid, and proven technology for professional meteorological observation in the Philippines for decades now. There could be a couple of thousands of these expensive stations in the country today.Most of our AWS were Davis Instruments, and these were deployed as early as 2012. What amazes me is the ruggedness of this particular product, and most importantly its survivability despite the harsh tropical conditions and many of our host sites are in close proximity to highly abrasive saline environments near the coast, while others are in higher terrain. Typhoons, intense rainstorms, the searing tropical weather and humidity are just among the challenges in this part of the world.As technology continues to evolve, Vantage Pro2 series has proved its purpose through the years with its professional line of products which are time-tested, as evidenced by our extensive network spread across the islands archipelago of 7,641. Maintaining these technologies remains a challenge though, with rising cost and resource-intensive site visits. With this in mind, I hope Davis Instruments continue on developing these products and make it more affordable, while keeping A1 quality in the near future.Overall, perfect five stars on these quality products!

I am extremely happy with the weather station and it's performance. I am constantly connected with the weather conditions at home even while away. Installation instructions were clearly written and easy to follow. Set up of the main console and associated Internet equipment required only a few minutes. The fan aspirated sensor set improves accuracy within the radiation shield by creating a constant change of air across the sensors.

This is a solid setup. Easy to put together and get operational in a couple hours. Been enjoying the heck out of it this past month, with the record lows in the area.Quite a quality instrument. I'm a homeowner so cant be as critical as, say, a farmer, but it's plenty good for me. Operator console is a little "last year", it would be nice if a unit this new came with an integrated wifi/app setup. That's an extra...

Before this I had a Oregon Scientific. I will never go back again. The Davis 6163 Vantage Pro2 Solar is a awsome piece of hardware. I would suggest this unit for anyone interested in weather. It is well made and work perfectly. I would suggest getting weatherlink IP and the Envoy so you can connect it to Weatherlink IP, CWOP and WeatherUnderground. You will need a computer or dedicated weather logger and other software if you want to connect it up to some of the other upload sources. I would (and do) recommend any Davis product to my friends!!

Unit was defective out of the box. It took 2 phone calls to customer support and an email before they agreed to replace it. Took them 3 days more to actually ship the replacement, and two more weeks to actually get here.They (reasonably) require that I ship back the defective unit, but they refuse to pay shipping for it. that means I bought this product, had to fight with Davis to get them to admit it was defective, then had to pay to get it replaced.It doesn't matter if the product is any good or not. I'll NEVER deal with Davis again.

Bought this top of the line Vantage Pro 2 Plus with everything that could be added to it. High quality and well made. Setup somewhat finicky but was accomplished. The product had a defect in it from the manufacturer that has taken me days to try to get to talk to someone in Support. Their on hold music is pure crap designed to get you off the line. Faxes and emails go unanswered. The problem is with their quality control for such a simple item in that the anemometer cups did not have the magnet in them and was unnoticed by me upon installation. After installation, No wind speed indicated. Everything else ok.Had to go back up on roof, remove the anemometer stalk and take it down to troubleshoot. That is when I discovered why no wind speed indications. I have been trying for a week to get through their crappy tech support interface to resolve this problem. Otherwise it works very well and is very accurate. It works with their separate data logger if you want to transmit to the usual weather upload sites. I recommend that you get that but it is a bit pricey as is the whole system but is probably the best amateur system available. Setup was fairly straightforward. I use it with Ambient weather Weatherbridge, but it needs the USB data logger attachment for that. Other than the manufacturing defect which should be easily remediated, I am very happy. If you get one, check the anemometer for missing magnets.

Weather station is great
