desertcart.com : Fray Bentos Chicken & Mushroom Pie 475g : Grocery & Gourmet Food Review: Best chicken pot pie made anywhere - Generally all the chicken pot pies in the USA stores have thick dough like pie crusts. They bake up dry and unappetizing. We first found Fray Bentos pies in the island country of Grenada (U.K. Commonwealth) and when we baked one up the pie crust was flaky like a French croissant is supposed to be. The Fray Bentos "puffs" up to make the best pie crust. AND, it is "shelf storable" which means no need to store it in a freezer or refrigerator. Just keep them in a pantry/shelf until time to cut open the "tin" top and bake. Review: A favorite from childhood. - Maybe the best of the Fray Bentos tinned meat pies. (You remove the top and bake them in the oven.) The sauce is creamy and savory, the bits of chicken tender, the pastry flaky and flavorful. This was a childhood favorite; I still enjoy them even with the high added import cost.

Does not produce.
Sorry mates, the quality and taste of this product was below the standard that I have received from other vendors.

If I could buy it locally for a fair price I would on occasion
Short version is, its okay but not worth it if you have to pay extra and have it shipped overseas, it becomes anti climatic. Longer version is, its okay, the sauce reminds me of canned cream of chicken soup before its diluted, the chicken itself tastes like canned chicken. The pastry on top seems like a fairly typical puff pastry, maybe a little bland. If I could just get it from the local shelves for around the same price as a frozen pot pie I would definitely keep some in stock. Otherwise I would say order it as a fun food experiment.

A tasty treat
This was a first. We really enjoyed having something from jolly ol’ England to try. It was a little light in the meat but overall was good.
