Better than foam plugs
Way better than Foam plugs. Technically the noise attenuation with foam plugs is higher at 32 dB while these are only 28dB. But the expanding foam plugs never expand perfectly to give the right fit. These fit in the ear canal much better in in my opinion give better noise cancelling than foam plugs. Plus, the foam plugs hurt after a few hours of wearing. The foam plugs get dirty and nasty from taking them out and re-rolling them to fit back into your ear. These have a stem so you don't have to touch the ear part. These have a cord which unbelievable handy to hang from your hat.

Simply the best ear plugs I've used...
I protect my hearing because I know that once it's gone I can't get it back. These are intended for hearing protection, not creating a zone of silence, so the person who bought these for student use (and gave them a 3-star rating) probably expected something from them that they simply aren't designed to do. These excel at what they are designed to do. They require no pre-compression prior to insertion into the ear (so they're quick to insert), provide very good protection on their own, are comfortable enough to wear all day, and have a lanyard that'll allow you to let them hang about your neck when removed should you desire to do so. Personally, I give a quick tug and tear the lanyard off, as I don't like that -- which is another selling point for me, in that the lanyard is there for those who want it and also very easily removed for those who do not. I use these when: * mowing * trimming * shooting * working heavily with air tools such as impact wrenches, air hammers, and the like The box is wall-mountable and has instructions that'll help you properly place the screws on the wall should you wish to do so. I did this, and when I reorder these, I'll be putting the new box in the same place as the old one ... which is nice as I don't need to depend on the old box holding up for years; the entire solution is disposable.

Can you NOT hear me now?
I use these for loud movies (or just the loud parts) and to endure my church's worship music, which is often at rock concert levels. I used to use the flexible plugs with flanges and a nylon string that runs between the plugs so you can drape them around your neck. The flanged type worked well at times, but sometimes would spontaneously lose their seal, especially when I was singing (because my jaw motion changed the shape of my ear canal), so I had to frequently adjust them to keep out the sound. These 3M plugs seal my ear canals completely and don't break the seal even when I move my jaw. They're also much more effective at blocking the sound. I like the plastic cord they come with alright, but it's a bit stiff so it's more work to straighten out the kinks and then wrap it back up into a small ball that will fit in my pocket when I'm done with them. But that's very manageable. They excel at their main function, which is to keep out sound comfortably. I just wish they came in smaller quantities than 100 so it wouldn't cost so much when you only need a couple of them. These are the best plugs I've tried. I don't like the foam type that you have to squeeze and then quickly insert before they expand again. These stay cleaner better since they don't absorb dirt as easily. They form a secure and comfortable seal to keep out the sound.

Everyone that mows a lawn needs to own these
I have been using these for 15 years. Flying, mowing lawn, running compressor, vacuuming, sleeping. Yes, I use them a lot and my hearing is perfect at less than a young age. (Like how I framed that being old statement?)

Fantastic For What They Do
I give these five stars for what they are: Very comfortable, effective, push-in earplugs for concerts (and can certainly be used for other use cases). They are entirely superior to run-of-the-mill foam earplugs, by allowing live music to come through (especially bass), while GREATLY lessening damaging sound pressure levels. They allow you to hear the music, and not be pummeled by sheer volume. Being push-ins, they allow one to adjust the incoming volume (within reason, that is). The five stars for Noise Cancellation should not be construed that they rival Sony, Bose or Apple in-ear headphones; these brands offer true ANC.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE EARPLUGS! 💯💯💯 I am a side sleeper and these earplugs are a savior. I sleep in a VERY very noisy household, and these earplugs have dampened the surrounding noise (such as snoring or loud TV noise in the hallway) enough to get me to sleep. They are not like 100% soundproof or anything but they get the job done!🥰 I have been on the lookout for *side sleeping earplugs* for sleeping for LITERALLY my whole life and struggled to find anything that compares. I have odd shaped ears due to having braces and my jaw line moving. So these are literally a life saver. And normal foam ear plugs always expand and fall out even though I pinch, twist push and leave those other types in, those other ones fall out. Not the case here fortunately! Because of their already pinched design. 👍 They are a tad to big for my little ears, so what I did to fix this problem is cut the earplugs on the sides (see photo) to make them smaller and more workable. And since I sleep on my side I had to cut the "stem" in half so it wasn't poking my pillow and moving around. And now that I did those two things I am so happy and I hope they dont go out of business or I will be devastated. 😭💀 I would one-thousand percent recommend these earplugs to picky earplug users. HAPPY SLEEPING!!!🥰
