True 810802 Gasket Gdm-72/T-72 Black Narrow

These gaskets were ordered for my TRUE GDM72 refrig that sits in my shop. The old door gaskets were shot and these were perfect replacements. I was a bit afraid that for the price they would not have magnetic strips, but they do. Also, they do have a little stretch in them; I think I stretch them a little less than a 1/4”inch on the width..

I ordered this gasket for a refrigerator at my restaurant. I was surprised to find it on Amazon but the price was very good compared to what the technician quoted me when he came to repair my cooler the previous week and suggested I replace it. I ordered and it arrived several days before I thought it was, so I was surprised at how fast it got to me (Thanks amazon!!) I was not sure exactly how to install the gasket but it came with very easy to follow instructions and I was done in under 10 minutes. The gasket looked identical to the old gasket (minus the torn up parts) and the door closes just fine on the refrigerator. Overall great experience and saved me serious bucks.

To start, this gasket is made of cheap quality. Already a small tear in the corner upon arrival. Most importantly though, this gasket DOES NOT fit my True t-72 refrigerator. Gasket is perfect width, but too long, meaning there is slack in the middle when all 4 corners are tucked in. Gasket also sits very loose in the grooves of the door, and comes out easily. When comparing it to my old gasket, which I suspect is a True OEM gasket, this one has a noticeably thinner dart (the area that fits into the fridge door), which explains the loose fit. If this was the only problem I would consider using some mild adhesive to keep it in place, but since the fitting on the length is about a 1/4 inch longer than it should be, it just straight up won't work. Might work better with newer fridges, as my t-72 is at least 10 years old, but for my specific unit this gasket does not fit.

Fits great but give it a few days to adjust to your fridge, the magnets didn’t seal right away but within a week they were fine!

right size, poor quality.

Install worked for my True 3 door T-72 refrigerator. I have found that these seals will rip apart after a few years of constant opening and closing of the suction. Fairly easy to install yourself so you can save on labor cost on what these commercial companies are charging.
