Multi purpose.
I used these lights while camping as well. I hung these lights in a tree or from a rope strung between trees. I carried an extra car battery so I could set up the light almost anywhere. The only down fall I found was the wire to clamp seemed a little fragile . I worried it might break,and a larger clamp would have been nicer . It was brighter then I expected.

I was curious so I clipped the connectors onto a 9V battery. It actually worked. For over 9 hours !! I timed it. Nice

Long lasting on my spare 12 volt motor cycle battery two weeks two light's only used 5% of capacity
Easy to install long lasting light's up the whole boat.

Disappointed!
Does not get any brighter using 24volt instead of 12 volt. Also had 2 of the led strips that did not work.Cord was long and it was water tight with no need for extra weight to make it sink. Would have returned for exchange but did not have time to return it. Not sure if I would buy again due to the led strips not all working this time.
