Use this on a Magnetic Helping Hand base.
If you buy one of these:Magnetic Helping Hands Soldering Third Hand, PCB Circuit Board Holder with 3X LED Magnifying Lamp, 360 Hot Air Gun Holder, Extra Large & Heavy Duty Base Plate | Flexible Arms for Soldering Station...and you have a 1/4" 20 tap, the helping hand base plate has predrilled holes that are perfect to thread for this flexible arm. I love how one thumbscrew loosens and tightens all of the joints at once. Can also screw the arm into the heavy magnet base that holds the vise. I wish they sold those heavy magnet bases separately.

Recommend for light-weight applications - 1kg near vertical, <500 grams horizontal
I purchased two of these (simultaneously not as a replacement for a defective one). I've used one other brand and design of friction joint arms at the same price point, just shorter, with silver ends and a metal wingnut. Compared with the shorter one, this 19.7" arm makes me nervous to rely on it to hold anything important. One I currently have set up with a center channel speaker, and the other I'm keeping available for an LED panel soft light. The soft light weighs around 1.05 kg and the speaker is less than 800 grams. The speaker is currently holding at a semi-horizontal position and actually seems fairly secure, but it was incredibly difficult to get the nut tightened down enough for me to feel comfortable that the speaker wasn't going anywhere. The arm with the LED panel seems to be able to hold alright at a shallow angle, but even snugging down the "wing nut" about as far as I can, it barely seems to hold at around 45 degrees from vertical (both segments mostly straight). One side of the arm with the center speaker (ball-jointed section) keeps getting stuck and will not unloosen when the nut is turned without a lot of forceBottom line - it's ideal for holding a cell phone, lightweight LED lights, webcams (in a pinch). I'd be seriously cautious about relying on this for anything weighing more than 500 grams, certainly less than 1kg, and even more hesitant to use this for any kind of daily driver.I'll update with how the arms hold up over time.

Good Customer Service
Clamps work great to hold up two oversized ring lights. Arms arrived without the c-style clamps for some reason, but when I contacted the seller they sent replacements right away.

Couldn't even support it's own weight.
I will be returning this. When I was trying to set it up, it couldn't even support it's own weight. When I tried to tighten it, the threading started stripping. Low quality and disappointing.

Don't waste your money.
I tightened the magic arm once (while on a videoshoot) and it immediately broke at the camera mount. Don't waste your money on this POS.

It does the job
I got this to hold a webcam on my stacked monitor set up. It holds it well. I had an issue where one of the ball joints was extremely difficult to move but after a bit it got easier. Hasn't sagged at all after a few weeks. It'll most likely buy another soon

A fine product, but the tube clamp has no 1/4" thread
My product wasn't as the videos and pictures imply. The tube clamp didn't have a 1/4" thread, only two 3/8" threads, so I couldn't attach the arm to the tube clamp. However, the other clamp seems fine, but then only has two 1/4" mounting holes and no 3/8" mounting holes. The product is sturdy and definitely won't move when in place. Aside from one clamp being useless, this is a finely made camera arm. The distributor just needs to fix whatever inventory issues they have and I'd round this product up another star. I was able to source another tube clamp (looks like the exact same one) from another seller on Amazon for a few more dollars.

Threads strip in clamp immediately
Appreciate the 19” length where most are 11”. But the clamps threads stripped immediately upon holding the arm weight horizontally. Male end of threads on the ball joint also lightly distorted.
