Inadequate instructions
This product comes with instructions that are ridiculously hard to understand. The flyer has photos that are so dark and so small, it is impossible to figure out how to put it on. I tried one way. Then another way. It takes a lot of futzing to figure out how to put it on and then, it is very difficult to adjust. Of course, it is supposed to slow the exhale but I am having difficulty inhaling.

Amazing
Wearing this has completely stopped my snoring and I am better rested whenever I wear it. It takes some adjustment to make it feel comfortable, and it's important to select the right size nose piece, but it's not a big hassle and it has really improved my quality of life.I have mild sleep apnea and I really didn't want to start wearing a cpap. Unfortunately I snore terribly and my boyfriend has insomnia, which is a bad combination. I had purchased some Thera-Vent strips a few years ago but never used them, and finally gave them a shot. They worked, but then I found that they are no longer manufactured. Doing some research, I found the Optipillows seem to function the same way the Thera-Vent strips did (easy to inhale through the nose, tough to exhale.) My ENT had never heard of them but when I discussed it with him he said the principle was sound and was fine with me using it.This has really improved my quality of life. It's easy to clean, extremely portable, relatively comfortable (as far as things you strap around your face can be) and most importantly, effective. It may not work for everyone, but I highly suggest you give it a shot.

Contact customer service of the company to make sure you know how to adjust the headband
The customer service was excellent, replied promptly, and was helpful to fulfill my requests.I quote my correspondence here: "Thank you for your prompt reply. The Optipillow works OK, the main problem that I have is the displacement of the pillow itself during sleep which makes it less than desirable. I use several apparatuses and Apps to monitor and help my sleep since I have moderate sleep apnea. These include Snore Earset, O2 Max Oximeter, the iPhone apps: Autosleep, SleepWatch, and Snorelab. I know exactly when I snore and have low SPO2 during my sleep. I used Provent for more than 10 years and found it worked very well until it was discontinued. I have tried Bongo Rx and it could not help my sleep apnea even when I tape closed one of the two holes on each side. The pressure buildup is simply too low. And it is very inconvenient to order Bongo Rx because I live in Hong Kong and visit the USA only occasionally. I ordered Optipillow through Amazon and received it here in the USA when I came in October. Ordering without the need for a prescription is very convenient for me. The Optipillow worked quite well in the first couple of weeks but the headband has been difficult to adjust. When it is not tight enough, the pillow moves around, and when it is tightened to hold the pillow in position, it hurts my nostril. Now after lots of trials, the device works well when it stays in place. But during the night, it tends to get loose from one of the nostrils and leaks air, could not keep the pressure high enough. My judgment is that the pillow becomes softer and can not hold its position. It is also interesting that my snore is worse than when I use Provent, but the sleep apnea is not too bad during the time when the pillow is not leaking, much better than Bongo Rx and only a little worse than Provent. I think if there are some ways to hold the pillow in position, it will work much better."I received helpful tips from customer service and improved my use of the device. Now I have been using it regularly and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to be free from CPAP by switching to EPAP and who wishes to reduce snoring.

Waste of money. Ineffective.
Waste of money. Ineffective. Does nothing. Have to sleep with mouth closed to work. But if you’re used to a cpap machine pushing air into your nostrils you’ll have to breathe extra hard to get air in your nose with these plugs. Plus they whirl and whistle making noise while breathing thru nose. So I returned it to Amazon and got my money back. Don’t waste your money trying it

It is not a smooth fit like my CPAP machine.

I wanted to like it
Nice concept but way overpriced for what you get. The headgear is low quality and fibers end up in the mask. Velcro is very strong and impossible to adjust while wearing. The proprietary valve adjustment is awkward and the valve is very noisy. The cushions/pillows are hard to install, come off too easy, and are low quality as compared to the big brand cpap masks. The medium appeared discolored out of the box! The pillows are not soft enough and none of the sizes allowed for proper airflow. The only plus is that the pressure on exhale was good and adjustable.
