Yes, they should work. The HellCat BassVI is 30" as well in scale length, just like the Fender and Squier. A thing to keep in mind: String gauge may be different from what you have on your hellcat already, so you may want to set it up for this gauge.

Danelectro baritones were the original "six-string bass" so to speak. They were used to get a "tic-tac" sound when used for recording back in the 1950s. I never owned one of those, but I did own a Longhorn bass. Danelectros have an amazing sound. If you can bet you hands on a Danelectro baritone, go for it. They are convertible, but you need to use a light gauge string set.

Hi, Elliot...how are you using your Bass VI? I take it you want more of a baritone guitar sound. Is your Bass VI a Squier or Fender? I own both, and while the Squier is a great version, it's not crafted as well, e.g. the nut on the Squier was not very well-manufactured. The Squier would definitely be well-suited as a baritone, as a lighter gauge wouldn't be such a huge transition, just be careful when buying strings. The 30" scale will not accept a lot of baritone string sets because they are not long enough. I've read where many folks have been disappointed after receiving a set of baritone strings they have ordered only to find out they wouldn't reach the tuning pegs. I actually had a baritone Squier Sub-Sonic, and its scale was only 27". I use my Bass VI as a bass, and I was smart enough to buy a set of Fender Bass VI strings before I even had one, and the gauge of those is actually heavier than what my Fender VI came with, as they are the original gauge of Bass VI strings. I can tell you, though, from reading a lot of forums that the Squier makes a great baritone. Again be wary of string sets length. While they may say baritone, they might be for a shorter scale.
