I have a severely arthritic kneecap that will require knee replacement eventually. This condition is genetic and nothing I can do to alleviate it. I'm only 42 and I've been struggling with kneecap movement due to this for years. It can cause extreme pain. I wear this brace every day of my life and have for years. I have worn out my favorite one! It has saved my life and I'm not exaggerating. Without it, I would be disabled and unable to function. Because it offers kneecap stability and support my pain has greatly decreased. I can walk and so daily activities (except stairs) and am prolonging my need for surgery. Thankful is an understatement! My only complaint with these braces is that the newer ones have straps that are too long, making it hard to secure. It's like they used bigger straps on a smaller size sleeve. The sleeve fits but the straps are long. My original one is not like this. I've bought at least 6 of this style.If you struggle with patellar instability due to any condition, I highly recommend this brace and avoiding stairs at all costs. It will save your life.

I have patellar subluxation that has been in flare-up for several months. This brace fits directly around the knee. Unlike most braces, the patellar pad is only on one side, so when tightened, it applies pressure directly along the side of the kneecap that has slipped. It doesn’t give as much support as I’d like, but is still one of the best I’ve tried. It’s small, well made of thick, flexible material, and is fairly comfortable, although the Velcro can irritate a little where it attaches behind the knee. I use an elastic sleeve under it which makes it quite tolerable. Be aware, this does not open fully so you must be able to step into it and pull it into place. However, this design means you can flip it for use on either leg or either side of the knee.

When it is first put on the support is good. After walking 1 to 2 miles, it needs to be adjusted. The Velcro straps loosen.

the foam bumper on this is firm enough to keep the patella aligned and soft enough not to cause discomfort on bare skin. I looked at the sizing chart and was right at the upper edge of the cut off so I went a size up. It fits great and I can wear it over or under most of my pants.

Why are they still in the business of selling plus size braces? If a plus size person wanted a brace to hang around the ankle we could just buy a regular size one. How are they testing these things, they say it stays up but it does not at all. Buying this item was a pure waste of time because they are going to refund my money and I will never trust their products again. This has been the case with every product of theirs that I have ever purchased now I'm finally done!
