These fit together well and seem to be a good quality. The two layers fit together which is good for my purpose of a portable gun case. This is much thicker than in my original Glock case. You can get the thinner style if you are going that way. I don't know why the interlocking ridges are necessary for soundproofing. I'm happy with the product and it does exactly what I want. I went for the big bundle as I might have other uses for this product. It save me money to get the bundle rather than the single.
