Q: Do the window hooks allow opening of the window

We have had some problems with opening and closing the window while this window seat is installed. The window will not open or shut when it's installed, so we just pull down the window as far as it will go without latching and leave it. But, it still works for us, because we just take the seat down at night when we need to close the window.

If the window sill fits the hooks that’s all you need. It doesn’t matter if the window is closed or open.

Q: What is the depth of the metal window hook?

1” to the very front edge. And 2.75” to the back of the front dowel.

Q: Can you put this outside?

You would have to have that window sill lip on the outside for the device to sit on. It sits in the track of the window sill.. So maybe 🤷♀️
