Both Sensitive and Punchy
I have used the Evans G1 coated as my batter head for years, with Evans clear G1 as mt resonant head. They provided a great sound, the sound I was looking for, but I had to tune often. I switched to the Evans EC2 clear and could not be happier with the sound texture I'm getting. I play Maple 9 ply Keller shells, and the sound I get from the Evans EC2 is full, punchy, sensitive, responsive, resonant and satisfying. All this with excellent tuning stability. I also use Evans EC2 clear resonant heads which I love equally as much as the EC2 batter heads. I would highly recommend this head combination for any type of drum shell. Plus they are super easy to tune.

You must use these!
Many of us use as resonant drumheads some batter, maybe even the old ones. Please stop doing it, use proper resonant heads instead. These are the best resonant heads I have used ever: they are thick and have also another layer ring, which doesn’t really muffle them, but keep overtones low and short. These heads really help to keep focused our toms’ sound and they are also a big help to better tune our drums. Also, they are very resistant. Buy these, they worth it.

Nice sound
Makes a nice sound coming off my 10" tom. I plan on putting them on all toms next replacement.

CONTROLS THE BOOM ON OUR 18" DW FLOOR TOM
We just finished installing one of these resonant heads on our DW 18" floor tom to try and tame the sustain. This head sounds good and it definitely cut the ringing tone from this cannon of a floor tom.The head was easy to install and bring up to pitch. Immediately I could tell the tone was improved. An interesting way to predict the heads performance is to hold it up on your finger (not installed on a drum) and just tap the center of the head gently with your finger. Comparing the original DW-Remo to this Evans EC-18 was very revealing, the DW-Remo was very boomy with lots of sustain while the Evans-EC did not boom or sustain. Our DW kit just lives in our recording studio, it is not moved around for gigs. This Evans-EC head helps the floor tom speak authoritatively without too much low frequency sustain.Good music to you!

Used for 10+ years. Best Resos out there
My Spaun kit has dbl 45 degree bear edges. With g1 or g2 reso's the overtones the drums produce is just too much. Been using EC2 resos and EC2 batter heads for over a decade. They quiet the unwanted overtones without choking my drums. Engineers love the sound when I'm recording because they don't have to do a lot of compression when mixing. I'll never use any other resonant heads on my kits. Period. They're that good.

Great drum head, shipping method questionable
Only play Evans EC drumheads exclusively and turned to Amazon.com when I couldn't find the 16" EC resonant head on the online music equipment sites. Price was fine, but the method in which this retailer ships leaves a lot to be desired. It was sent through the regular mail. The USPS mis-routed this head to another part of Atlanta, which delayed my receipt of it by five days. Imagine my surprise when I finally received it and saw that the company I bought it from did not even box it up! They just stuck a label on the flimsy cardboard packaging that the drumheads are wrapped in! This packaging definitely showed that it took a lot of abuse on its way to me (thank you USPS), but fortunately, the head was fine. Would recommend to the company that sells these that they charge a little bit more for shipping, package it correctly, and ship it via UPS or FEDEX so that the buyer can track it.

Great sounding heads.
I was skeptical of trying these heads. I was never much a fan of the Remo Pinstripes, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how punchy and resonant these heads are. I usually prefer a traditional coated single ply head like a Remo Ambassador, but I have a set of drums that just don't sound very good with an Ambassador. They tend to "honk" rather than give me the pure resonant tone I'm looking for. These EC Reso heads sound great on my drums.
