a guide only - not accurate
OK - this is OK for a RELATIOVE meter - ie how loud one thing is compared to another. Its pretty useless as an actual a curate reading. I have tested with some good quality calibrated meeters - and this registers 10db +/-2db MORE than the calibrated reading.10db doesnt sound much - but its a log scale and 10 db louder is actually double the perceived loudness. Its no good as a meter to prove your neighbours are too loud for instance, nor as a reading for playing guitar, or drilling... UNLESS you are aware of the 10db inaccuracy and factor that in.So - as a rough reference guide KNOWING its 10db too much - or as a comparative reading (ir this is louder than that) its decent enough - dont rely on it for a proper accurate reading though. Part of this is due to it being wall mounted which adds a boundary affect - in essence amplifying the sound of the room off the wall. Just be aware and take that into account and its reasonably usefull.

Looks nice, doesn't work
The first one I ordered had to be immediately returned, as there was a 2-inch wide air pocket from the top of the display to the bottom. The second one looks the way it should, but it's functionality is questionable:No matter how many times I try recallibrating the thing, it reads a quiet/empty room as 40db+, quietly closing a door registers as 60d when the latch clicks into place - I seriously doubt the accuracy of these readings. As it was all I could use for comparison, I downloaded a decibel meter app on my phone- in a quiet room the app was giving readings of ~20db, which seems far more likely, compared to the 40db+ this product was saying. I then put on some music and was confused even further when the app gave readings of ~70db while this product was only showing a reading of 62db. I know using an app isn't a great comparison method, so I'm kind of at a loss as to the actual accuracy of the device. The thermometer is giving readings about 8-10 degrees (c) above actual temp, too; so it's not even worth keeping for that reason. The brightness of the display resets to maximum whenever you turn it off and back on, which is (imo) an unnecessary annoyance. Not worth the money, if you're buying a sound level meter for anything other than decorative purposes. Will be returning this one, too.Absolute waste of time and money.

Stopped Working
Attractive display, very light for what it is and how much it costs. Very dissatisfied that after 3 and a half months it doesn’t work, start anymore. Returning for a Replacement or Refund!!

Wildly inaccurate DB reading even when calibrated IAW instructions,
db meter records us speaking at 95db and may cause hearing damage (even after calibration), Humidity reads 59% when 2 other devices both read 41%. Seems to overread in all aspects of the device.db meter would have me play the guitar at a level that you barely hear. Reads 108db when the volume of the amp was set to low and reading 65-72db on other devices.
