Nice quality clone
If you're expecting RACOR fit and finish, this will not meet your expectations. However if you're looking for a reasonably priced alternative to a RACOR 500, this is more than adequate. The good: The price is right, the finish is acceptable where it matters, it accepts and works with RACOR filters The bad: It is shipped in its original box which was obviously never intended to be used as such. I understand this is Amazon's fault but now that it's Amazon's normal, sellers need to be stocking items in appropriate shipping packaging. The filter arrived with the lid dogged down WAY too tight which damaged the gasket on both of the filters I ordered. The seals shipped with the hose barb fittings are not the proper type for the application. They'll work out of the box but expect problems in the future. The filter included is unmarked, so if you have a specific application and requirement in mind, best to start off with a known quantity. Even though the good list is way shorter than the bad list, the fact that it's about $200 less than the name brand makes it worth the effort. Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

Works like it should
This filter is well built and functions just like the more expensive models. This was used to make a fuel polishing system and worked like a charm.

Great investment to polish fuel
I bought this to polish the old diesel fuel in my boat's tank. We attached it to a board, and with some hose and hose clamps our little DIY system worked just fine. With filters, I have about $100 invested (we already had a transfer pump). Just follow the YouTube videos. Having fuel polished by a commercial concern costs many hundreds.

Works well, but has some leakage
Bought this and a couple other filters to build a filter skid to reclaim some diesel that had gotten water in it. I keep my diesel in stainless or galvanized 55gal drums, somehow water (a lot) got into one of them and I unknowingly put 5 gallons of it in my tractor and it got past the tractor filters as well as the intake water absorbers. A month out of service and 2 service calls later it is running, but I had 50+ gallons of contaminated diesel at +$4 a gallon to deal with. Hooked all the filters in series, mounted to strut channel in a toolbox (for portability and to keep everything dry and protected when not used) After dying the diesel to make it easier to see the water I ran it all through the filters. Every time the water bowls got half full, I drained them and changed filtered them. Ran the all the diesel through the 3 filters three times before returning to the drum. after the first pass no water indicated on the paste aside from a tiny bit on the end of the stick (which was the case initially, apparently the water was emulsified), dumped the last inch of liquid into a bucket to use for brush piles and ran through 2 more times with new filters to be sure, and tested again. Zero color change on the paste and zero water indicated. Put 5 gallons of the filtered diesel in the tractor and ran it for an hour with no indication of issue. All that to say, the filter works, but be aware that there will be some leakage, even using pipe dope on the fittings, so take that into account on your application

Excellent quality knockoff
I've had both the real deal and a couple of these knockoffs. The difference in quality is noticeable but not enough to matter. Bottom line, if you're on a budget and want a filter/separator that fits OEM filters or the cheapos, this will cut it. I've been using these on diesel marine engines and had zero issues.

not an exact replacement for my 500fg
I bought this to replace a racor 500. However, the fittings were not compatible with my existing fuel lines (which had compression fittings) and I didn't want to mess with the lines. So, I tried to put the old racor fittings on this item, but the threads were not compatible with the racor fittings. Finally, I thought I would take the bowl off of the new one and put it on the old one racor, but two of the bolts on this one are recessed and can't be accessed using conventional sockets or wrenches, so not sure how to remove the bowl. So I gave up.

Good quality, and includes a filter element. In & Out are not marked but are the same as my old Raycor unit. The pipe threads are probably metric but if you use the supplied adaptors you'll be OK. I needed 90 degree hose fittings and transferred the ones from my old uint. The NPT thread is very close and I eased them in carefully. Running the appropriate NPT thread tap or chaser into the female housing threads would help.
