An outstanding rearview camera
I have just installed two of the VTL375HD cameras on my two older Subaru Outbacks. I mated the cameras up to the Boyo VTM4000 4 inch monitor. The image quality of this combination is outstanding. You need some experience in vehicle installations to do a neat job. Although my experience was from 30 years ago I was able to complete a neat job. The camera has a short cable permanently attached and will require a small hold drilled behind the license plate to pass the cable into the vehicle. There are two grommets preinstalled on the cable and I cut off the larger one and used the smaller one which fit nicely in a 19/64β hole. I think a 5/16β hole might be just a tad too large. Itβs probably a metric grommet designed for a 3mm hole.A tiny connector on the end of the short cable attaches to a 26 foot long extension cable that will be run to the dash. There is no convenient method to grab DC power from the backup lights. Using the supplied cables you must get your power from the front of the vehicle (fuse block). This means that your camera and monitor will be on whenever the car is on. Not a problem for me but some might find the constant rearview display distracting. Surprisingly, there is very little useful information to be gained from a full time rear display. The wide angle nature of the camera makes objects more than a few feet behind you appear very small. The camera tilt angle is adjustable using a supplied allen wrench. I adjusted mine so that I can see a small amount of the rear bumper at the bottom of the display.I would not hesitate to recommend this camera.

Excellent upgrade from my VTL375
I installed a Boyo VTL375 on my F150 over five years ago, and it has been a reliable performer for me. I just installed the 275HD on my Expedition EL, and am incredibly pleased with the purchase. The image quality is amazing compared to my 375, and the configurability of the display is great with the included remote. Plug it in, configure it the way you want it, save the config, and you're done. The picture looks amazing on my Pioneer AVH-X4800BS. I did have a minor install issue relative to my fat fingers and approaching 50 eyesight, and ended up bending the power pin on the tiny connector from the camera to the long svideo cable. That connector needs to be as small as possible, so I can't fault the design of the product for it. I got my highest mag glasses out and bent the pin back with no further issues. :)The svideo extension cable wasn't quite long enough to reach the head unit since installing the camera in the rear hatch requires a lot of extra routing, but I had anticipated this and the extended power wires and video cable of the head unit enough to reach the end of the svideo cable.

overall good product.
The manufacture and design of the camera is first rate with one exception; the connection off the camera is a small four pin connector where the pins can be easily bent. A larger connector would have been prefeered. The kit included a heat shrink mastic to cover this connection.Directions are non existant. You get a list of contents and a schematic of the system with no recommeded connection. The power and ground for the camera follow the video link all the way to the dash. The power and ground are wrapped in their own sheath that has to be stripped to reveal the individual wires. I wired the power to the reverse circuit in the dash so the camera wasn't on all the time. The wires supplied in the box were more than long enough to get to the dash and didn't require any extensions. The image supplied by the camera is great and the final look after installation is clean.I would recommend this item to anyone who is familiar with automotive wireing.

Good camera; in bad weather or darkness, has a much better image that what I can see myself out the window
I like this camera. For me, it has just the right viewing angle--as wide as you can get before the distortion makes judging anything in the image very difficult. I like the brightness of the image, too. I find it sufficient in darkness with just my backup lights providing illumination. With parking lot lights, it looks almost indoor daytime bright but with noise in the image--much brighter than what I see with my eyes. In bad weather, I find the camera has a much better picture than what I can see out the window. My car has a high-ish truck lid, plus a wing, and so my view out the back window only sees the upper half of an adult. With the backup camera, I can see all the way to the ground immediately behind the car, which means I know for sure there is nothing--no children, no pets, no toys, no suitcases, no golf clubs, no groceries (imagine anything you can)--behind the car when I back up.

Good camera, but watch out
The camera works perfectly. I married it to a better quality OEM rearview mirror monitor, with great results. The "Geek Squad" folks installed it in my SUV (installation instructions are terrible, but par for the course for this kind of electronic gizmo).But...be careful! The angle of view on the camera is approx. 170 degrees...so there's a definite fish eye quality. The objects behind you appear to be farther away than they are. By the time that other car in the parking lot looks as if it's getting close...you've already kissed bumpers.Still, I got it so I could see behind me in parking lots in spite of the size and height of my vehicle, and for that, it' ideal.

Great image quality even at low light
This is a great option for Rear view camera. There are a LOT of options nowadays so key differentiators here are:- Awesome image quality... way better that my stock rear view camera (Honda CRV 2012)- Compatibility: i was able to use it along with my Sony receiver without any hiccups.- Light sensitivity: this camera is able to perform great under low light situations- Durability: I bought 2 years ago and still going strong.... only issue is that a corner of the plate holder broke mainly because i was not able to secure the bottom part of the plate to the car door without drilling the car itself (which I refused to do). Luckily the camera is removableAll in all... a great find and purchase!!

I just got this recently, hence why I am giving it a 4 stars out of caution. The plate itself looks very nice & is much sleeker device than a lot of the other rear view cameras out there. The image is ok, but could be crisper...however that might have to with the Double DIN stereo screen. The garage that did the installation said it was pretty much straight forward & easy to hook up
