Everything I Hoped For
I just bought an iPad 4 and wanted a way to make my iPad float in front of my face whether I am standing, sitting, or lying down. I looked at a lot of cases but they all require you to hold it with your hand or prop it up at an angle on a surface. I wanted "hover", not "sits". So I looked at a lot of reviews here and at YouTube videos before deciding on this particular device. When it showed up I knew it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Not only will it screw directly on the end of a Mic Stand, it also comes with a "clamp" (with short arm) to attach it that way if you prefer. The device comes with 4 extender clips (2 sets) for either the iPad 1 or iPad 2. Luckily, the iPad 2 set also fits the iPad 4. You just snap the four clips on each side of the holder and you are ready to snap in your iPad. I also bought a "boom style" Mic Stand for $20 at Guitar Center. Don't bother trying the holder/iPad with a "gooseneck" as the combo is too heavy for the goose and "sags it". I didn't even bother with the C clamp/arm. I screwed the holder right onto the end of the Mic stand arm. I now can hover lyrics in front of my face, sit in a chair with the iPad hovering either in front of or next to me, or even hover it in front of my face while lying down in bed or on the couch. If you are bed-ridden or sick, this would be very useful. The flexibility of the holder's ball joint coupled with the flexibility of the boom Mic stand, makes rotating the display around a breeze and it is held so snugly there is NO CHANCE of my iPad slipping or falling out no matter what the orientation. I just move the stand/holder/iPad from room to room with me. So not only was this one of the cheapest iPad holders, this thing JUST WORKS! Why spend more than you have to?

This thing is great!
With no customer reviews, I decided I would give this a shot since it is cheaper than most of the other options out there. As it turns out, this thing is fantastic. My first concern was whether or not it could hold the iPad above my head, screen facing down, without breaking my nose from slipping out. It gives a really nice fit, and I can lay in bed, have it dangle right above my face, get bed sores, and feel safe. I have a "the new iPad."Some features that people might like to know about:- You can have the charger/data cable plugged in while this is in use- You can very easily rotate on the fly, 360 degrees and beyond- The head of this thing will mount straight to the top of a mic stand, or you can attach it to the post with the clamp for more flexibility- The clamp really does connect well to a round pole, such as a mic stand, or to a flat surface like a desk.- It is cheap.

Talent iClaw Music Stand Holder for iPad is Perfect for Professional Musicians
This little iPad holder has inserts for several different tablets, but I use if for the iPad Air attached to a music stand. I play string bass in the orchestra and since I use both hands to play my instrument, I have to stop playing to turn pages. This allows me to download PDF files of all the music for each performance and tap the bottom corner of the tablet to turn the page. I had to work to find a place on the music stand to attach it where it wouldn't wobble, but once I found the right spot and attached it, it worked great. My only complaints are minor. One, the adjustments are a bit complicated to make, so I can't readjust it in the middle of a performance. I have to disassemble the holder to get it in a carry bag with my iPad, so this makes it less convenient, but it's still very functional. The other complaint is that the plastic part into which the iPad snaps is a tad flimsy. I almost lost my iPad last performance when turning a page. Evidently, I hadn't snapped it in adequately and one side popped out. It is critical to check that your tablet is snapped in securely before making adjustments. This is an ideal solution to my page-turning and music spilling problems of the past.

the pivoting part attached to the bracket snapped for good while making a routine adjustment
Just know if you're going to buy this, it WILL slowly deteriorate until it is no longer functional. I've had mine for about a two years and it bit the dust last night after ongoing heavy usage and gigging at least 4 times a month.1) The bracket is very difficult to screw into the threads(doesn't want to "bite"), so much so that I got to the point where I just left it on all the time, which makes it impossible to throw into a gig bag.2) The little plastic arm for screwing the ipad to the correct angle snapped off after a month or two, no biggie, still works, just a minor inconvenience.3) The black T shaped nut at the bottom started losing it's ability to loosen properly, effectively leaving the swivel tight all the time, again it still worked, it was just stiff to move.4) Last night, the pivoting part attached to the bracket snapped for good while making a routine adjustment, making the ipad just dangle there, *sad face*. Oh well.On the plus side, I got two good years out of it, and it served me well at $30, and the most important part is the bracket itself snaps onto your ipad lake the head crab from the movie alien, there was never any fear of the ipad falling out of it at all.Good purchase, but won't buy it again.

This is the second one we have had of this brand in a year and a half for we replaced the other just like it that the holders broke off after a about ...
We have had ours for less then a year. We use it to hold our iPad in our live concerts. It has gone through about 25 concerts and the plastic fastener on the back has cracked and it is no longer able to hold the iPad without flopping/rotating. This is the second one we have had of this brand in a year and a half for we replaced the other just like it that the holders broke off after a about 6 months use but we thought we improperly packed it in our van. We are not buying another of this brand.

Nice idea, but flimsy construction
I bought this based on the positive reviews, I should have paid more attention to some of the negative reviews. While the unit itself is based on a great idea (iPad fits nicely, attaches to mic stand, can rotate in any direction), it's made of really flimsy plastic. Mine broke when I clipped my iPad in for the 7th or 8th time. The end clips that hold the iPad in place are themselves held in place by tiny little ridges. In my case, the removal and insertion of the iPad broke the ridge off one of the end clips. I've since glued all the end clips in place with Gorilla Glue.
