I'm quite a fan of Victorinox. They make solid, long-lasting products, and this REX Peeler is no different. It works well on whatever I've thrown at it. It's very light and sharp, so it makes easy work of peeling. You can also use this to make chocolate spirals or cheese strips. They are a little thinner than ideal, but this isn't the core behaviour of the peeler; it's just a nice bonus.

It is very sharp and does the job of peeling vegetables and fruits with hard skin.

I've been plagued by substandard peelers for as long as I can remember. When I accidently threw our old one out with some peelings I took the opportunity to invest in a high quality replacement and I know my chef friend always rates victorinox. It took some getting used to as I'm used to having to hack into veg with blunt blades, but this one doesn't do well with pressure. The key is to brush it lightly over the veg and let the razor sharp blade do its job. One I'd figured it out (and after a few accidents requiring plasters) it works like a dream. I look forward to buying more victorinox stuff in the future.

This peeler is great. So minimalist but so very effective. It's easy to hold and I have peeled fruit (papaya, pears, apples). veg (carrots, potatoes, butternut squash, sweet potatos) and ginger. What I like about this peeler:1) It's easy to handle and hold --ergonomically sound and pleasant, I'd call this.2) Slides easily --the blades are excellent. I am not sure a peeler can feel professional but that's how it feels to me.3) It gives peel control --it peels very thinly so it does not feel like it takes half the thing alongside the peel, which is a problem I had with my previous peeler.Overall, this lives to all the expectations I had of this brand. I love it and have even considered buying some as stocking fillers for some of my friends. That's how much a good impression this has made!
