I use a small amount of hair oil and wash it out after each use. Distributes well and doesn’t pull my fine hair.

I read many negative reviews about this item and several other similar scalp applicators. I figured at the price it was worth investigating for myself because the concept seemed simple. I can say without any hesitation this thing works great. Absolutely no issue.When i recieved it i took a tooth pick and depressed each applicator ball all the way to it's stop. To test each spring. And they all seemed to have similar spring tension. I'm using a light oil solution of minoxidil/finasteride. i fill it to with just enough to cover the inner workings inside the bottom of the reservoir. i fill it with just enough to keep the fluid level just above that.When i use it i place it against my scalp and pump the rubber button on top and the light pressure applied depresses the applicator balls against my scalp thereby priming the applicators. This leaves little wet spots on your scalp giving you clear indication the fluid is being transferred appropriately. Then i go about combing my hair and applicating solution to my scalp. If it feels like it's getting a dry roll i just stop and pump it a couple times and it's back to flowing appropriately.

This does deliver more liquid to scalp level, less is lost in my hair, and my fingers stay clean. However, you need to press fairly firmly to release the fluid, and the ends if the prongs are rather harsh against your scalp. If you press and move it around, it hurts, and it does abrade your scalp. You also need to press in on the lid on top to get it to release fluid if it's not filled fairly full. I use it, but carefully. All the prongs need to have balls to release fluid, not just a few.

Very hard to clean!

The only struggle I have is that sometimes it doesn’t secrete the serums, I may just be having a struggle due to user error though. I think it’s fantastic for the price otherwise and never gets tangled in my hair which I love.

Because it is small, it is uncomfortable to apply to the scalp. Be careful that it doesn't get out of hand. And besides, it's not as good as I thought it was.

I'm using this for minox application. When I first started using minox, I was attempting to apply it with their dropper over my entire head (diffuse thinning). I went through a 30 day supply in ten days. This applicator allows you to cover your entire head with much less minox and it makes covering your head a quick process.After a bunch of frustration, I finally figured out the trick to get enough product on your head without scraping your scalp: As you're rolling this across your head, press your index finger into the top/lid, which is silicone and flexible. This gets enough product onto your scalp that it doesn't dry immediately and everything is properly dispersed.

Very comfortable to use. It dispenses the oil evenly across the scalp. Also doesn’t leave your hair to oily.
