It works!
I have no knife sharpening experience to compare this against other kit, but as a complete beginner I have been able to make a huge improvement to the sharpness of my kitchen knives. There is a knack and feeling to it, but starting with the guide tool I found it really easy to pick up. The process is a little time consuming, but I found it relaxing and rewarding.

Good price, good kit
Only had it for just over a week now, but I've sharpened several kitchen knives using the 400/1000 stone and they've come out remarkably well. I haven't yet used it on my best knives but having seen the he results on my cheaper knives I'm pretty confident the kit will be great for them too. Nice sturdy, straightforward whetstone kit.
