my butter needs a home when he's left out on the counter. i love everything about this crock. pack the butter into the bell, fill the water up to the line inside, start enjoying your salted butter at room temp for 30 days. it could only be easier if it came with the butter pre-loaded.

Sturdy and keeps butter nice and fresh

Love it so far.What an excellent idea.We still refrigerate the butter. But the convenience of the canister is amazing.We add some salt to the water to help I reduce the microbial growth. Water gets changed every few days.In one attached photo you will see a red arrow pointing to the water “fill line” on the bottom portion of the canister.I took off one star (and maybe I’m wrong for doing so) because there is a hole on the handle of the lid piece.I cannot see a reason for it being there, it is not mentioned anywhere in the advertising, no one has mentioned it in their reviews, and I see the possibility of water getting in there during the washing of it. Hopefully it will not cause a weak point when it is used in the dishwasher with a “heat drying cycle”.Overall I like it a lot. But still not sure about the hole in the handle. And I don’t want to contribute to the waste of an Amazon return which cost millions, and just fills landfills.

Ready cute and I love kitchen stuff. I have never heard of a butter crock before and never had butter turn rancid from keeping it on the counter in a covered butter dish that I noticed. It’s different and new. It’s neat and I like it.

It was as advertised.
