This was a much better than expected rebirth for the Flash
This was a much better than expected rebirth for the Flash. I am a huge fan of the Flash but I did not expect to like this as much as I did. The writing is very solid and really keeps you engaged into the story. Barry is a little more timid than I'm used to, but he is still as likeable as ever. The new villian is also really good and it's one of the better new villians I've seen recently. The artwork is also pretty fantastic. It has a very kinetic energy to it and leaps off the page at times. Overall a very strong start for this new run.

This is a DC Rebirth series worth reading.
The first thing to note about this book is that if you haven't read the DC rebirth one shot the first chapter of the book pretty much gives you all the info you need for that story. While it has yet to be confirmed, there is a possibility that this will be one of the main books to read if you want to know what's going on in this post New 52 world and how it will all turn out.As for the story, it is about normal people gaining the speed force and Barry Allen taking the time to train them, while still dealing with people who are attempting to take advantage of their new abilities in order to commit crimes. The dialogue and action go well together and the artwork is phenomenal. Whether you're a fan of the comic or just the TV show, I highly recommend you pick up this book. It's a great introduction to the DC universe especially for new fans.

Solid, but you'll see the twist a mile away.
The Flash's Rebirth title, shown here, doesn't change as dramatically as many Rebirth lines did, but since the New 52 Flash title didn't need the major overhaul some New 52 books needed, that's okay. The first bit of the book directly follows the events of the Rebirth miniseries before switching into the new plot of the book. It's a mostly solid read, with a plot that moves from beat to beat with a good pace. The new villain is certainly interesting, and uses his powers in a smart yet terrifying way. All in all, it is enjoyable, but there are a couple of gripes I feel the need to lay out.The big one is just how easy it is to predict the big twist. The writers simply didn't conceal the foreshadowing subtly enough, or provide strong enough red herrings, to mask it. And maybe they weren't really wanting it to be too big of a twist, but it reads as if the twist is supposed to be more shocking. The other one is minor (slight spoilers ahead); Barry gets a new love interest in this book, but it never feels necessary for the romance to be there. If she were a new platonic friend, it would function just as well with only minor changes. I'll even be bold enough to say it might be elevated slightly if it kept them platonic, providing something a tad more unique in the current comic atmosphere.Neither of these are dealbreakers, though. At the end of the day, this is a solid Flash story.

Absolutely loved this. The Flash is my favorite DC character
Absolutely loved this. The Flash is my favorite DC character, and this first volume is definitely worthy of the title of the Flash. If you haven't read this yet, do yourself a favor and get it immediatly. Even if you don't like the Flash, read it anyways because it's a great story

First DC book
This is the first DC series I have gotten into. I'm usually a Marvel guy. But the story by Josh Williamson and art by Carmine Di G is outstanding! Like I said this is my first series as I haven't read any of the older Flash volumes. I do like the tv show and the story here is similar to what is on tv. Not the same but similar so I was familiar with the Central City I saw in the pages. The Flash Rebirth has been a very fun read so far. Keep up the good work Josh and Carmine!

Good stuff
Loved it. I never really read a flash solo before though so keep that in mind, I don't really know how flash is "supposed" to be outside of justice league.Starts a bit slow but by issue 3 or so pacing was good until the end of the trade. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in DC rebirth.Little repetitive narration but the recaps are for the single issue buyers I suppose
