decent thingamajig, but noisy and wobbly axle
This product works as intended, I’m satisfied with the amount of air she burps out. The gear ratios are such that you get alot of fan spin per crank. The metal tip does fall off, but that’s an easy fix if you know how to use glue. Heavier than I expected, but prolly a good thing, cause you know they got quality Chinesium metal gears up in there. Main issue is that the axle that the fan attaches to gets to doing a heckin’ big wobble after you wind up to only just a little speed. So you have to crank harder, and your teeth start rattling. I took it apart and kinda fixed it, then it started happening again. Oh also, this baby is LOUD. Almost jet engine level volume. But a nice change of pace from traditional billows, and good value for the money. Writing this review after my first usage, so havent broken it yet. Just turn the TV up a little when you’re using it, cause the kids will start yelling.

Neat idea to feed the fire. Definitely easier
So this is actually helpful. Instead of having to wave my cardboard at the fire I just crank this. It did come with some assembly required. The little metal tube just slides on the front. Then the hand crank there's a little hole on the metal knob sticking out of it and you just put the crank on there and that's where the screw can go into to hold it into place. And with that being said I have no issues with that falling off that's holding on pretty well. And then as for cranking it it works. I haven't had any issues with the crank or the little metal piece falling off I've been had to tape anything I haven't had to tie anything. For me it is working the way that it should be. I can kind of change the frequency by how fast I am cranking it. I am able to direct it into the fire to get the fire some oxygen. Also when I was just testing it out I ended at my kids and I cranked it and it blew all their hair around so I think this works pretty well. Mine worked right from the start and I've had no issues with it. I was slightly worried after reading the reviews but I am not having any issues and this is saving my arms and helping me with my fire so I'm happy. So after a couple uses I am seeing that the tube is falling off. But we just used some electrical tape to keep it in place. Still very helpful when trying to fan the fire!

Fun but smokey
Lots of fun getting those flames up, but makes a smokey Ashy mess if sued in a stove or fireplace.

Really cheap but works
This is a game changer when trying to grill with wood charcoal. It's a cheap made in China POS so I don't know what the longevity is going to be. I already had to epoxy the metal nozzle to the unit because it kept falling off. Also don't get it too close to the heat or the internal fan binds up. But otherwise, it pushes out a nice stream of air to fan your coals and create big flames.

Works great
I use it inside to start a fire. It really stokes the flames.
