Pyratine XR Lotion, Hypoallergenic Anti-erythema Non-irritating Skin Lotion with Cytokinin (2 Oz)

I nursed a tube of this for a long time; mixed a small portion with my regular lotion, as this product had no moisturizing qualities on my skin (but that's not what I got it for, so that's fine). I was also trying to make it last longer for the price. Ultimately, my thoughts are "it works, but ..." Every time I used this I'd get gritty particles that made it less pleasant to use. Having said that, I made this tube last a loooooong time, so maybe it was a batch issue, and the currently available batch doesn't have that issue.For comparison, I have had constant low-level rosacea for over 20 years (consistent, overall face redness, without lesions or blemishes; I looked like I was wearing a warm pink veil over my face, or a too-dark, too-pink foundation). I had IPL treatments that removed broken blood vessels, but didn't lighten the overall "red-filter" effect on my face. After using this for about a month, I did notice an improvement to the darkness and redness of my skin.Now that my tube is done, I'm back to buy more, but I'm thinking I'll switch to the creme version, or maybe even the Pyratine-6 version (I'm leaning toward the latter). Final thoughts: worked for me, and I recommend it, assuming you can afford it. Try stretching it by mixing with regular lotion (especially if your skin needs moisture, which this won't provide). If you have actual broken blood vessels, those may need to be treated in other ways.

I've been using PyratineXR lotion for nine weeks. I apply it morning and right before bed. I noticed a subtle difference within two weeks, by the 6-8 week period the difference was remarkable. Fine blood vessels have disappeared. Redness has faded around my nose, cheeks and chin. Even the papules from my rosacea have shrunk as have my skin pores. This has really worked for me and I'm ordering my second tube. The 2oz size lasted about 2 1/2 months used twice daily. Frankly, I'm amazed that a product that has worked this well is OTC. I am so happy with the results. My 50 year old skin now looks as young as a 30 something. No kidding.

I have used this for only 2 weeks and I'm so happy with the results. I had markedly reduced redness after 2 days. It continues to diminish. I am so happy with this product. I have, in the last 12 years, tried everything and nothing really worked. This was like a miracle the first week. Redness diminishes immediately upon application. I do have to use it twice daily. It does work well under makeup. The only drawback is it's expense. A lot cheaper than the lasers though and it's painless...

I really wanted this product to work. I wanted to avoid taking anymore antibiotics for my rosacea. After 13 days of use the redness is only slightly reduced. Have also had a few breakouts on my left cheek. I was hoping for faster results. I will use up the tube but if nothing changes I won't be purchasing this again. I apply morning and evening to a clean face. This product is too expensive for the minimal results I've experienced so far. Very disappointed so far.

I took my chances purchasing pyratine by reading about it..two weeks later and the redness in my cheeks is fading,not completely yet but pyratine definitely is working,when I run out I will repurchase..its definitely worth the money
