Fantastic pencils and amazing colours
I absolutely love these pencils. Such amazing colours and the tin they come in keeps them protected. Great value for money

Lovely subtle pastel shades great for botanical coloring in
This is the second purchase of Castle Art Pencils, I have the 120 set and I am very pleased I purchased these.I have a faber castell trio tub box pencil sharpener which has a slot for coloured pencils. This sharpener is very good for sharpening softer cored pencils.I loved the colour selection of the pastel shades. I have put them all in a very large pencil case together. The 48 tin set still comes with the leaflets on colouring and a swatch sheet, so I think the only difference between this tin and the other set that costs £42.99 is the case the pencils come in. So I would suggest that if you already have a large pencil case like I did then this is the better value for money.I found the 120 pencil case had a strange smell, so that also help me to decide that the purchase of the tin made more sense.Although some might like the tin and lift out trays I am not a fan as if the trays get stuck and you pull them out too vigourously then the pencils could end up falling out, hitting the floor and the leads will then break. So I placed them in a 200 slot, one pencil per slot pencil case. The plastic trays went in the bin, the tags on the trays were saved to put round papers, ie holed punched papers and the tin now holds all my bobbins in my sewing machine bag with an elastic band round them to stop them falling out. So literally every item apart from the plastic tray has found a new use. If you are not a professional artist and want a medium priced set of pencils these will really do the job. If you are very careful how you look after them, how you sharpen them they should be okay. Those people who have had all the leads break have been unlucky the item was probably dropped somewhere in the supply chain.I treat my stationery like a precious cargo, find storage solutions that work, store pens upside down, out of the cold, and sun and sometimes horizontally in order to improve shelf life. I only get one pencil out at a time, or use a pen tray my dad made for me to put a few pens in so I can blend, otherwise our cat tries to knock the pencils off the table.I would buy these again. This is not a bot produced review it is the real mcCoy from a human being hence all the waffle!

Surpringly good!
I'm not a professional artist but own and use artist quality pencils. I'd tried other budget pencils before but have never been impressed but thought I would give Castle Arts brand a try as this pastel shades set caught my eye. I'm really pleasantly surprised at how nice they are. The colours are really beautiful, all pretty spring-like pastel colours and the blendability is very good. I also like all the little extras included, such as a tutorial and swatch chart to colour. Very impressed with this little set.

Gorgeous colours
Although they're stunning colours, I do feel a set half this size would be more appealing, as there's only so much pastel colouring you can do, they are not quite as smooth as the other colouring pencils set that I have, but still nice and smooth and blendable.

Beautiful New Colors
My wife got me the 120 Castle Gold set for my birthday and I love them, and so when I saw these exist I had to get them. They’re so so so pretty, and it’s so hard to find good quality pastel colored pencils, and this is exactly what I’ve been wanting for years. Smooth and creamy and blend beautifully. Extremely happy!!There is NO overlap between this set and Castle Gold 120, these are ENTIRELY NEW colors.

Lovely colours
Such a nice set, with colours that help ward off the winter blahs! Pencils are sturdy and easy to sharpen, and the extra booklet is a nice touch. My only complaint is the trays that are not very solid, so it's easy to drop them and their contents.
