POWERFUL MAGNETIC LOCK
I just completed the installation of this “Waterproof 12VDC 24 VDC Heavy Duty Magnetic Door Gate Lock 1200lbs”. So far, a great product so tested trying to push the gate open and it holds perfect, I email customer service to inquire and they reply within few hours, great experience. I installed the Magnetic lock on my electric single swing gate power by Topens Model A/3. For this application you got to make you use the 24v relay (included in the package) The instructions were easy to follow as far as connecting the wires from the magnetic lock to the relay, but when connecting the wires from the relay to the gate opener control board things got complicated as the instructions did not allow the magnetic lock to release. The instructions asked to connect the relay wires to the +- Lock. But that didn’t work. So I did some research and found out as alternative when the (+-lock) doesn't work......... Here's what you do. You take the yellow and white wire from the relay and connected like this; Yellow wire to space #1 (+24) White wire to space #3 (GND) The magnetic lock will engage when the gate is close and it will output / release when the gate is activated to open/close motion. I also added a weather-box + cord wrap protector + apply some caulking for the connections to protect the wires from the rain and sun. Now when I use the Topens remote control to open the gate it unlocks the magnetic gate and it works amazingly.

For the price, can’t go wrong!
Using mag lock to hold dual swing iron gates. For the price, hard to find a 1200lb holding mag lock that includes mounting brackets and relays for both 12vdc and 24vdc systems. As other reviews mention, instructions could be better. If you have never worked with a mag lock, you will need to play with it some before installing. I agree with another review about screws, not the greatest, use your own. I was able to pick up what I needed for less than $2 at a local bolt store. I went with stainless steal Flat Head Socket Cap Countersunk Bolts and tapped the holes, holds great! The hole on side of lock for wires could have been sealed but I did it myself with a little silicone to prevent water penetration. Also installed a Topens dual swing gate opener. I emailed mag lock vendor for instructions to wire lock to gate opener (Topens, A8132) and within 24hrs received response with a wiring diagram that was easy to follow and worked without issues. For a DIY project and home use, the pros far outweigh the cons. Can’t beat the price, product and vendor. As of now it’s working great. Installed 11/24 so time will tell if any issues but I will update review if so. Over all - 5 stars.

Awesome Maglock and brackets
I am amazed at the fit and finish of this lock. I bought it for a 10 ft. Swing gate using it with a Liftmaster LA500. The anodized finish is great and the brackets are exactly what I needed. The Liftmaster is set up to work with mag locks so the installation came out clean and works perfectly. So happy with this purchase. Tip: leave the “armature “ (the metal plate that sticks to the maglock) slightly loose and lock the threads with blue locktite. The armature needs to be slightly loose and locks up tight with the magnet side one it’s energized.

Should have bought the first time
Initially I bought a different type of lock that had a pin that would get stuck when trying to open the gate. This type of lock caused slight damage to my gate. Then I opted for a magnetic lock and as long as it receives a signal, it will disengage. - I placed the relay in its own waterproof box and ran the wires to the control box. - Days after, I decided to install a Homelink module so that I could lock and unlock from my vehicles without having to use a keyfob. - A day after that, I decided to make the gate opener smart, so I installed a Sonoff Wifi Switch Wireless Relay Module that I had laying around, so that I can use my voice with Google Home, Smartthings, and Alexa to control the gate. The lock works 100% of the time and was a lower cost option to the original lock I purchased and does not rust. The other lock shows signs of rusting.

Good Magnet, Bad Instructions. SOLUTION FOR LIFTMASTER ONLY
Note: I am a homeowner, use at your own risk. But this is the solution that I used. For Liftmaster Only. This assumes you have installed the lock to the gate and are ready to power it up. If you're hooking this to a liftmaster gate controller, let me save you a day of frustration. First off great magnet. But the instructions are terrible. Here is the solution: You'll need however many feet you require of 2 strand low-voltage wire. I used 4 wire telephone wire. On the magnet: 1. Tie blue and white together and tape them up. You are left with black and red. 2. Tie Red to one strand of your low-voltage wire to one. 3. Black to another. (Note color if also not red and black.) At the control box: (Toss those relays to the side, unneeded) 1. You will need a 4" single wire jumper wire. Cut and strip ¼" of insulator on each end. 2. Jump the Acessory Power (-) the COM position of the "Lock" contacts on control board. It helps to take the block off the control board. Reinstall when done. 3. Take your Red wire and put on Acessory Power (+) 4. Black wire to NC (normally closed) of the "Lock" contacts, right above the COM wire. That's it. Your done. Test your lock, and adjust your gate stops as needed. Cycle the gate a few times so it learns pressures.

Customer service came through in the end!
Great customer service once you figure out how to contact them, they sent me a replacement unit promptly. Worked like a charm, and fit right in place of the old one, no weird model changes, or mount changes, hold strong again!
