80 bucks for a poker chip case??? Yes. And believe me, I would've paid more for this case. Don't even try to compare this case with other cheaply made metal cases in the market. I have tried several of them, and none of them lasted 6 months. If you have a set of 1,000 chips and need to carry them around, look no further. This is the best case you will find. Pros: - Great construction. Very sturdy. - Top quality materials. - Design. Good looking case. Luxurious. - Locks and hinges work smoothly and seal the case real well. - Interior is amazing. From distribution to look and feel of materials. It actually fits 1,050 of my chips. (About 105 chips per rack) Cons: - A bit pricey. But, as I said, It's worth every penny. - Heavier than other cases. This is expected due to the quality of this case. - locking mechanism and keys could be better, but they work fine.

Great case! Super solid construction and very sturdy. Holds a thousand piece set as well as about 5 decks of cards with a little modification to the inside of it.

this is one sturdy, good looking case! I filled it with 1000 chips, and it IS heavy, but still easy to carry around. The 10 100-chip rows can actually hold a few more (in my case, about 108/row, if you want it tight) chips, but it's nice to have a little space, as that makes it easy to take the chips out. Since the two bays for the card decks are sunken in, you can place about 6 decks of cards in the center area of the case w/o a problem. One enhancement would be a hinge, to stabilize the top of the case in the open position (in my case, the lining spanning from the bottom to the top of the case is maximally stretched when the top and the base are at a 90 degree angle, which can result in the top starting to come down a little easy when servicing the chips. But would definitely recommend this product.

When i was just getting into playing poker on a regular basis about 6 years ago, i inherited a 1000 piece set from someone who didn't want theirs anymore. That was pretty awesome except the case latching mechanism was broke, so it always had to be carried "top-side-up" rendering the handle useless. Earlier this year (2018) i decided to use some xmas gift card money to replace that case. I read a bunch of reviews of a bunch of different cases, both of the "cube" variety and the "briefcase" variety and settled on this case. I was initially very pleased with the case. It is very sturdy, seems to hold *more* than 1000 chips, has places for cards (which i don't use). The handle and latches seemed sturdy and it was relatively easy to transport the case from my storage area to where i setup poker games (which is not that far away, maybe 50 feet at most) despite the obvious weight of 1000 poker chips. The inside lining for chip storage is solid and seems to fit most standard home chip set sizes. And it looks good, so that's an unnecessary bonus. However, I normally wait 3-to-6 months before i review a product for good reason. As i setup for a May 2018 poker tournament, i rested the case down wrong on an angle as i lost my balance a little bit. (I'm no weight lifter.) This slight twist down broke one of the two latch locking mechanisms. The "key lock" internal hardware busted and eventually fell out entirely. The hinge part of the latch is also a little bent now too. Note that i did NOT drop it. The case was about a foot-or-less above the surface to which i was putting it down when i lost my balance. The case did NOT come down hard, just came down on one of the corners first before it laid flat. This is unacceptable to me having spent ~$90 on the case for the specific purpose of the case, the handle and the latches being sturdy. I wouldn't care if the case was fluorescent pink and orange as long as the closing and carrying mechanisms were solid and wouldn't break under normal use. But that wasn't the case. That was only the 4th time i transported the case between storage and my poker room. If this happened after many years of use, then i would be more understanding. But it's brand new. Time will tell if that one latch with the missing locking mechanism weakens and doesn't latch over time. I really hope that doesn't happen. But I'm much less confident in this case than i was 3 months ago when i first used it. If the handle or latching mechanism was still sturdy after a year of use, i'd give this 5 stars. But that's obviously not the case and i can only say it's an okay option. From all the reviews i read before i selected this case, i'm fully aware that most other options (on Amazon) are lesser options. If i ever (have to) buy another case (if the latching mechanism on this case breaks to where it won't stay closed), then i'll make sure to check out what options exist *outside* of Amazon if the options in Amazon don't seem like good ones.

Quality case, handle seems strong enough that I trust it with one hand. Inside dividers suck, chip spill around inside the case during transit. Problem solved by removing them and using standard 100 chip racks. Bonus is I can now fit 1100 chips inside, and I prefer having racks with me when I run games away from home base.
