The best money I've ever spent on my dogs.
I have two dogs, and I bought one of these for each of them. The older one, Zoe, is extremely scared of loud noises like fireworks and she hates riding in the car. She spends the whole time curled up on a seat and frantically panting and drooling. Gambit, the younger one, isn't too scared of noises but is absolutely terrified of car rides. He's never been able to ride more than a couple of miles without throwing up in the car. To get him from my house to the vet, he'll throw up at least three times, guaranteed. And that's not round trip. (Thank god for car seat covers.)Our dogs really are like our family members, and so it absolutely tears me up to see them so stressed out. I've tried everything to help reassure them - multiple different supplements that are supposed to help calm them, the calming collars (smell great, but no change), even the expensive DAP spray. Even giving them benadryl did no good. (I thought they might not be scared if they were drowsy.) When I saw how fantastic the reviews on this product were, I figured it couldn't hurt to try. When the two shirts came in, I followed the instructions and put them on the ground so the dogs could inspect them and get used to them. I put a couple of treats on each, so they'd associate them with good things. They both seemed to accept them easily, and didn't freak out at all when I put them on.The difference was amazing. I saw an immediate reaction with the oldest, Zoe. After a few minutes she laid down on the carpet, extremely chill, and started dozing. I thought perhaps she was just sleepy and it was coincidence, but every time I put it on her, she does the same thing. (At first I put them on for 10-15 minutes every few days, just so that they would get used to it. I was afraid that if I only used them before we went somewhere, they'd start to associate it with car rides and be scared.) Some of our neighbors started shooting off fireworks a few weeks ago, and she started panting and whining, and trying to burrow into my side in fear, and she's not normally a cuddler. I put the thundershirt on, and it was really great to watch. She obviously wasn't happy about the fireworks, but she really calmed down and just laid next to my desk. She still wanted to be in the same room with me, but she wasn't so frantic that she had to be on my lap anymore. With the younger one, Gambit, the effect wasn't obvious when I put it on him the first time. He still ran around, playing with a lot of energy. (He's only 9 months old, so the puppy-ness may be part of that.) When I put him in the car to go to the dog park however, it was definitely effective. He sat on the seat and stayed in one place. He was still panting a bit, but he wasn't drooling or whining, and we made it all the way there and back without him throwing up even once.I know it seems like a lot of money to pay for a shirt for your dog, but I spent many times this on products that didn't work, trying to find something that did. And it is worth every penny, I think. I no longer have to see my dogs freaking out and terrified, and feel so bad about how stressed they are. (It's also nice not to have to steam clean my car or seat cover after every trip.)I can't recommend this product enough.

If you're reading this, you need a ThunderShirt
Okay, I was very skeptical. We adopted a rescue that has high anxiety. Sometimes seemingly for no reason she gets all wound up. You can Tell she's not able to think straight. Also, she doesn't do well home alone.Looking for some answers to calm her down and bring her relief we found ThunderShirt. Along with other items, we purchased this as a hail Mary option. We gave it a test run early day one for about an hour. We put it on her and she was fine. Later that night we had a situation where she was running wild around the house. Licking everything in sight, mostly me. I put on her ThunderShirt and it was an instant change. The licking stopped completely and instantly. She stayed calm and just let me pet her.We left it on for a couple of hours and she was great the rest of the night. When we leave she immediately starts pacing around the house and howling. Yesterday was her first solo flight with her ThunderShirt. She was calm for the first half hour of the hour we were gone. It was an amazing comfort to us... at least the first half hour. We're using blink cameras to watch her. My review for those is not as positive. In our opinion the interface doesn't work for this function. We're just going to upgrade our NightOwl system. Also, calms her with fireworks in the neighborhood. She's not overly sensitive unless they're very loud ones.So this is our testimony telling you our girl finds comfort and peace in her ThunderShirt. She gives no resistance to putting it on and doesn't fidget with it at all. Your results may vary, I hope not. I don't leave reviews often. It's got to be life affecting for me to take the time out of my day. This review is only after 4 days of use. The price has already been worth it.Stop reading and buy one.P.S. She's adorable in it!

helped a little
I bought this shirt after seeing videos and reading reviews. However, it didn't help my toy poodle that suffers from extreme separation anxiety all that much. I do believe the shirt will work in cases of fear from noises, unknown objects, thunderstorms, etc., but, at least in my case, didn't work with her extreme separation anxiety. Our tiny 3.5 year old toy poodle (3#) is a rescued dog and has a lot of quirks, some of which is her size since big dogs tore all the hair off her back (before we got her and one of the reasons why we rescued her) when they used her as a toy and a lot is her bond with my husband (he is her hero) and the two are almost inseparable. I would send the shirt back but sometimes it does calm her enough for us to work with her and to help her get over some of her separation anxiety issues. So if your dog is afraid of noises, storms, etc., I would say buy this as I have seen videos that it does work, it just didn't consistently in my situation and like people each dog is different. Loved the fit and she didn't mind it being put on or wearing it but it just didn't help her anxiety all that well. I do believe that separation anxiety is harder to cure but not impossible and we are making strides and some of that is due to the Thundershirt. I can say that for those whose dogs do suffer from SA to go ahead and buy the shirt and give it a try.We received it on time and in new condition. I don't have any issues with the product as it does work at times but just not as consistently as we had hoped for.

Bought second one for my rescue girl
Our rescue Jack Russell mix has separation anxiety. Thunder shirt helped our puppy mill mommy Hattie so much with her fear of fireworks and storms we did not hesitate to try and help Grace with her anxiety. Got it yesterday and have begun to ease her into wearing it.

AMAZINGLY GOOD - AND NOT JUST FOR MY OWN DOG!
I bought this product for my 10yr German Shepherd, Bracken.I'd only had her a couple of months when I ordered it, but i'd known and walked her from being a pup. She's a VERY anxious dog. Always had been. Terrified of strangers, traffic, storms, fireworks etc, and her previous owner had kept her away from scarey experiences as much as she was able. When her owner was sadly dying, I took her in (much to her owners joy), - rather than have her put to sleep as requested. ("No-ome would want a lovely dog as screwer up as she is")When it came to November, I discovered just what a traumatic panic a dog can fly into! I already knew I was in for a terrible time but i've had dogs all my life, as well as working with them for last 12 years, so I was prepared, with plug-in diffuser, covered crate (with constant access), and classical music for dogs playing continuously, quietly in the background. My other 2 old German Shepherds who'd been with me for years were slightly upset by Novembers fireworks but Bracken.... was a complete wreck! Nothing was working. She didn't even dare go into the garden to toilet. Then I heard about Thundershirts and ordered one immediately. It wasn't an instant transformation (I knew not to expect miracles) but by her 3rd day of wearing in the evening, I could see she was noticably calmer. I tried it on her on her evening walks when I knew we were likely to hear some bangs, and she barely responded to the distant ones! Very different from the week before. She was still upset in the house on a night when there were lots going off, but i'd put her shirt on and she'd go and hide quietly in her crate for the evening.I then went on to recommend it to some of my clients (i'm a professional dog walker). One for another firework phobic dog, and one for a stressed out dog who was suffering terrible seperation anxiety. Both dogs have been dramatically helped by the shirts.I haven't used Brackens shirt since Bonfire week, and she's a changed girl (also down to the training i've put in). She can now walk along busy roads, and will allow strangers to stroke her. The shirt is put away but I have no doubt it will be out again next November.I can highly recommend these and would strongly urge people to buy one if they have a dog with any anxiety problems

Thundershirt
Having read up on the Thundershirt and Tellington touch and looked at some pretty convincing videos on youtube I decided to try one. My rescue dog gets very stressed and does not settle we when go out and leave her. Having video'd her several times prior to using the shirt, we video'd her several times while wearing the shirt. The first time of use I noticed she seemed to settle for a little longer time than normal but on subsequent times I could see no real difference in her at all. Out on walks the shirt seemed to make no difference whatsoever. I was not hoping for miracles just that she might be a little calmer around other dogs and when left on her own. I am extremely disappointed. The only good thing I can say is that it makes a cosy coat, especially in this cold weather. I wouldn't let my experience put you off trying though, it may work for your dog.

I've tried this on two of my dogs, and ...
I've tried this on two of my dogs, and it didn't help with their anxiety at all. It's HUGELY overpriced for what it is - if you want to see whether it will help your dog I'd just buy a normal dog coat (or cut up one of your old t-shirts) and sew some extra velcro into it so you can do it up snugly. That's all this product it.

Thundershirt and what my dog thought...........
Ok well there has been a lot of hype surrounding these shirts and how effective they are........First off I will start by saying it is very important you are sure of the correct size for your dog as I had to buy 2 in the end. Second and most importantly do these work?..........Sadly for me no my dog suffers with seperation anxiety and there was no real noticable difference also my dog being a rather large and long mastiff can actually reach around and pull this off him quite easily as it is only held on by velcro so that kind of defeats the whole point. With all things considered and the price of these shirts I CANNOT recommend these shirts sorry.
