Epifanes Clear Varnish

This product beats anything you'll find in your neighborhood hardware store or HD that masquerades as "Marine Varnish." I've used it on outdoor chairs, tables, handrails and it lasts and lasts. I gave it only a three for ease of use because one does have to follow the instructions for multiple coats. Nevertheless, the long-lasting results are well worth the effort.

disclosure: I'm lazy. I don't like varnishing. So when I last varnished the tiller on my, I knew that I wasn't going to keep up with the maintenance and the varnish would start to fail within a year. Color me surprised when it lasted 4 years before starting to chip and peel off. Reluctantly, I embarked on another thankless varnishing project with a fresh can of Epifanes, and 4 coats later, the tiller looks like a museum piece. This stuff is SO good. It dries to a nearly crystal clear, hard finish that you could dive into.
