A great all purpose kitchen knife
I've bought a smaller knife of this style in the past, and was very happy with the results. I got this one as an all purpose kitchen knife, and have been happy with the product. If anything, the aesthetics of the knife are it's best quality. I've used it for a few days now, mainly on meats, and so far no issues, the metal is thick and sturdy, and haven't felt the need to sharpen it yet. It'll probably need some minor maintenance to prevent it from dulling, but that's basic upkeep in general. All in all, a very beautiful gift and a great starter knife

A glamorous and practical gift
This knife caught my eye due to its color and design. The buyers’ reviews convinced me that it was not mere eye candy. It has nice heft and the blade is formidable. This purchase was a gift; now, I want one, too!

This is a good looking knife with none-too-shabby performance.
First off, I'm not a chef or even a decent cook. Keep that in mind.Pros:- This thing looks really nice. Aesthetically, it is very appealing.- The handle appears to be well crafted and the blade seems solidly mounted.- The blade does indeed appear to be Damascus, or at least a relatively accurate modern interpretation of a Damascus pattern using modern materials. It is very polished and the pattern can be viewed relatively easily by turning it to catch the light.- Functionally, it appears to do what it's designed to do, and does it well. Keep in mind, I'm no chef. If I were, I'd probably be purchasing knives at a higher cost and I'd have higher expectations.- It appears to hold an edge well.- While I am hesitant to use it for and hard core chopping, it does seem sturdy enough for basic kitchen needs. It may well be a great chopper, I just haven't convinced myself to take that leap yet.Cons- The blade has minimal (if any) acid etching. This means the Damascus pattern doesn't "pop" like it would on an etched blade. However, I would assume the polished finish it has is better for the kitchen as it means food stuffs are less likely to stick to the surface. This "con" is purely a personal preference on appearance.- It looks too nice for me to really abuse it and test it's sturdiness. Again, this is a personal preference sort of thing. I'm just not ready to risk breaking such a nice looking knife by throwing caution to the wind and really abusing it.- It needed sharpening out of the box. It did have an edge on it, but not what I would consider to be sufficient for an all-purpose kitchen knife.- The metal is good and hard, which means that it holds an edge well but is a bit of a pain to sharpen unless you have the right tools or decent skills and patience. This is not really a con. It's more of a trade off; good quality metal requires good quality sharpening tools.Barring some unforeseen future catastrophe, I impressed by the quality and appearance at the relatively low price.

I like it at first impression
The media could not be loaded. I have a couple of these knives and so far I like them. They stay sharp for a while and appear to keep sharp. Yes these are not real fancy steel and no one would expect it to be at this price but overall it does what it is purchased for. The case comes with a magnetic close and is in a cool giftable box. I don't have anything negative to say about these at this time.

A nice gift for my chef friend
The media could not be loaded. As a gift for a friend, he was very pleased with the knife. The handle is made of fine resin and maple wood, which is very comfortable to hold and has very clear shell grain. The cutting is also very sharp, this is a high quality knife, what a surprise, worth buying!
