Minwax 63487000 Wood Finish Stain Marker for Touch Ups, Dark Walnut, .33 fl oz

This wood touch-up marker works remarkably well! I was hesitant to order one, thinking that it would likely take some trial and error to find a color that would match my cherry kitchen cabinets. I purchased the 'cherry' marker, and when it arrived, I was still skeptical, as it looked like it might be too light in color. But, I tested it on a 4" scratch and was amazed by the color match. For the next touch up, I took before & after photos, included here. The 'before' photo shows a sizeable scrape that happened when the inside of the cabinet door hit a pull-out shelf. The 'after' photo is the result of spending mere seconds dabbing the marker on the scrape. Since using the marker, I polished the door with furniture cleaner, and was glad to see that the touch-up color seems permanent.

This has become one of my favorite home improvement products. It covers dings instantly and unlike similar products from other brands, it’s very sheer and blends in seamlessly, even if the color is not a perfect match. I was worried about them drying out or having leakage, but they last forever!

This worked great for my need. I wanted a darker fretboard on my ukulele and this was so easy to use. I have also used it to cover small chips in dark wood work. So easy to use.

Review of 1/3 oz Minwax 63486 Cherry Wood Finish Stain Marker I have cherry floating hardwood flooring. I ordered this in Cherry to cover an area of wood glue that was used to repair two slats that had separated. The glue dried a very light brown, almost white. This Minwax did well on some minor scratches that I had, but it failed miserably to cover the glued area. I realize that wood and glue are different materials, but still I had hoped this would cover it and match. It was easy to use.

Stains well

looks good. stick end is felt and falls into the applicator pen making it problematic to use over time

Works as described

I love this stain marker, it has made my IKEA brown/black furniture come up like new. At first the touched up areas was really visible but then the stain seeps into the wood until you barely notice where it had been applied in the first place. I have even brought two used pieces of IKEA epedit furniture (now discontinued) that were so heavily scarred, I thought I might actually need to buy the tin of stain in this product range. But honestly I wound up just using this pen and the finish has come up brilliant in both units. Excellent product.

It is so watery it runs down the unit and it is not good

Covers scratches on hardwood floors amazingly. Can’t do without it! Price is a little high. Will be price checking at other suppliers

Does what it says on the label. As long as you have a cloth ready in case it goes wrong, it does the job of patching up wood furniture just fine.
