I bought this to replace another waterer that had had plastic innards and started leaking. The previous (Little Giant) had always had leaking issues and was constantly overflowing due to the plastic parts in the float adjustment. This one seems to be built really well. All the pieces fit together perfectly. Everything is metal, super easy to connect and adjust and the holes were in the same place as the previous one, so mounting was a breeze. There is no mounting hardware included so I reused the bolts from the one we were replacing. Holes were spaced the same so that was super convenient. If you aren’t replacing an old one, you will need two heavy duty bolts, rubber gaskets and washers, as well as the 1/2 inch metal converter piece for the garden hose fitting. Just installed today, but so far super happy with my purchase.

I've bought many an automatic waterer for my livestock. This one is awful. Don't get me wrong, the thing itself is very solidly built. Now if only it worked. Most float valves are self explanatory and work right out of the box. I fiddled with this one for 40 min before throwing in the towel.It's also poorly designed in other ways. One example (of several) is the mounting. First to access the screw with the waterer in place is very difficult unless you want to take the entire thing apart. Which one shouldn't have to. But even once you get it mounted, think about this: how are going to empty the water and clean it?? The answer is not easily! You can't take it down once it's mounted with a lot of messy hassle.But in the end, the worst of it is that the float valve just really does not work as designed.

The connection to a hose is not the typical hose size. I had to go to the hardware store and find a different size attachment. Then hook that up to a hose. It is possible but a little more work. The water feeder seems to be built well otherwise.

The finish in the metal sheet is a bit rough. Parts were installed a bit loose but removing the floater assembly makes mounting, and the application of Teflon tape easier. Once the floater assembly is firmly installed it makes the installation of the water lines easier. In my case I used 1/4 tubbing line with a 1/2 shut off valve. Go heavy on the Teflon tape on the inlet 1/2 connection and tighten firmly to avoid leaks. By the looks of it I expect this thing to last a life time.

Got this bowl for our dogs in their new dog run area, and so far it seems to work great! I opted for this one because it has brass fittings rather than plastic. The float valve operates as it should and is adjustable so you can adjust the water level. However, you will need to get a 1/2" to 3/4" thread adapter, the fitting that comes with this bowl is not the same size thread as a standard garden hose.

Leak from the beginning, all in this product are quality material except the valve, which is the most important part, it doesn't fully close.

super happy with this auto water feeder for our horses. Just know it will take a little time and know-how to get it adjusted to work as you need it to. I'm pretty handy so i was able to get it to work very well and it did not take long to get our horses accustom to drinking from it!
