The Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eye Liner in Blackest Black has quickly become my go-to eyeliner! The color is incredibly intense—a true, deep black that makes my eyes pop. The gel formula is smooth and glides effortlessly onto the skin, making it easy to create sharp, precise lines, whether I’m doing a simple look or a dramatic winged liner. One of the standout features is its staying power. This eyeliner lasts all day without smudging or fading, even in humid conditions. It dries down quickly but gives you enough time to perfect your line before setting, which I really appreciate. The included brush works surprisingly well for precise application, too! I’m thoroughly impressed with the quality for the price!

Sometime after I turned 50 I started having issues with any and all eyeliner migrating from my upper lid down to my lower lid “raccoon style.” I tried various pencil eyeliners, yet the problem persisted. I was so glad when I discovered this product because it does not migrate like the pencils did. This product comes in a small pot with an applicator brush and has a kind of waxy consistency. It is easy to apply and does not irritate my eyes. It is somewhat water resistant, though I don’t know that it’s completely waterproof. I wear it for hanging out in the pool and it holds up, but for something more active like lap, swimming, water-skiing, or surfing it might not. This eyeliner is an all-around win for me.

For years and years before I stumbled upon this product, I have been using pencil liners to line my waterline and eyeliner - but I haven't been as satisfied with the results I got from those. This gel liner came with a brush which allowed for a very precise application. However, I will say I didn't really like the brush itself too much as it can be a little prickly to the feel and it hurts to put on my eyelid. But I just use another tiny brush and it works out for me. It stays all day long, I went into a pool with this, put it through intense sweaty workout and this didn't bleed or budge at all! I love the rich black color as well, it definitely is much blacker than any eye pencil can give you, and I can especially tell on the waterlines. The brush can get pretty stiff though if not cleaned out properly and it can get a bit messy, so just make sure you clean the brush regularly. It feels really weightless on the face and it's great quality! Definitely give this a try!!

This is a really great eye liner. First, the product came just as described, the packaging intact and everything was as expected. Regarding the product itself, this is the best gel eyeliner I have ever used. For four main reasons: 1. because as shown in the second picture, the tip of the eyeliner pen provided is just thin enough to get that perfect liner look, and at the same time it wasn't so thin to the point where it would take forever to fill in the line. 2. just as the product states, it is definitely water resistant, which is very important because if it's a hot day, or worse if it's raining, you don't have to worry about your eyeliner getting messed up or running down. That was a big plus for me. 3. this eyeliner stayed on all day, WITHOUT GOING DULL. This is a problem I had encountered before with liquid liners before and it was so aggravating to have to keep reapplying it throughout the day, but I didn't have to worry about that with this gel liner. Once I put it on in the morning before going out, the same pigment that I saw in the morning, was there eight hours later when I went to take it off. 4. finally, the pigment of this liner was unmatched from the other liners I have used in the past. "Blackest Black" is an accurate description of the pigment of this liner. I applied it, and was pleasantly surprised because it really was the blackest black I had seen come from an eye liner. Other liners I used in the past would have a dull dark gray even though they claimed that it was black. The only issue I had with this liner was that it did smudge a little bit, but that's because I just had to wait a little longer for it to dry in order for it to be "smudge-proof" like it claims to be. Once I waited about three minutes after applying, it didn't smudge at all, and while this can get a little annoying at times, it was worth it for all the positives that came with this product. I would definitely recommend this eye liner to anyone that wants a bold, clean, dark look.

Eyeliner is decent, works well enough. Doesn't really budge but moved enough that you can blend out any rough edges. My biggest issue is the brush it comes with. The angled handle is nice but the brush itself is way too hard. It's rounded which means you're dragging a stiff curved tip of hard bristles against your lash line.

I couldn’t have imagined how smooth the process was but let me tell you it doesn’t disappoint. The only thing I’m wondering is if itll stay smudge proof because on my hand it smeared a little. Maybe I should let it dry better. If this one doesn’t stay smudge proof then I’ll be forced to try another brand but I have high hopes for it. I will get back with you on this one. If it does smudge and fades fast then send me something else to try preferably the same type of thing the gel liner. Something with staying power but we will see soon.

I like to replace my eyeliner frequently for sanitary reasons, as well as for keeping my sensitive eyes from leaking. Naturally it gets pricey having to buy the Bobbi Brown one every month. This one performs comparably to BB at less than a third of the price, which I consider fantastic. Performance: This liner goes on fairly opaque and is buildable. To me, it is nowhere near “blackest black” as the label indicates, but rather a soft black. It is very flattering and pretty nonetheless. Longevity: You definitely want to set this stuff with some powder or black eyeshadow if you want it to say in place or last all day. I have hooded eyes with nominal lid space so this a must for me. After setting the liner in place it will stay on well for a long time no matter what I’m doing; from when I go to work, when I go on runs, or randomly take a nap etc. it stays there until I take it off at the end of the day. It may fade a tiny bit but still looks good. It’s also worth noting that I really enjoy little brush it comes with and find it super easy to apply the liner with it. It’s easy to create different looks from a sharp cat eye to a smudged smokey look depending on the mood. Overall this is a great liner for the price and I recommend it. I’ve tried countless eyeliners over the years and can say with confidence that you won’t get a better one for less money.
