How To Make Growing Beads: Growing beads usually come completely dry. Be careful with them in the package because they will roll all over the place if they get loose. Then You put them in enough water for several hours (about 2-24 hours) to let them expand. The more water you add, the more they will grow until they reach their size limit . For larger beads, wait the full 8 hours. When they have absorbed the water, they will feel like squishy gel and will look like a translucent ball. How To Use Growing Beads: For Floating Pearls: Need Vase large enough to add your adding floating pearls, candles, flowers, etc. Add water gel beads to bottom of vase, add your pearls, gems, flowers, etc. Add water and fill till you can't see the gel beads. Add floating candles. For Plants: Remove any soil from your plant and place it in the container of your choice. Add enough water to cover the plant's roots, then fill the remainder of the container as desired with beads. For Cut Flowers: Add water until there is a base of approximately 1" on the bottom of the vase. Diagonally cut at least 1/2"off of the flower stems, then place them in the water. Fill the remainder of the vase with water Gel beads. For Silk Flowers: Wrap the silk flower stem(s) in wax paper or plastic wrap before placing in the vase. Add beads to the vase until the desired height is achieved.

Everyone loved the look!
Worked beautifully on the tables! Everyone asked how I made the vases and I almost did not want to share. Be sure to soak at least 6-8 hours! One tbsp of unhydrated beads filled several vases! I made 9 vases, alternating colored fake pearls (also bought on Amazon). The fake pearls appear to be floating because they are sitting on top of water beads, but it is hard to tell because they are translucent after you add water. Add a floating candle and boom! I have so many beads left over! I think I will get red/gold pearls and make Christmas vases for my house.

Very useful for gardening
These things are awesome. They are perfect if you are not able to water your plants daily as the soil/plants absorb the water from the beads. The beads shrink and will expand when you water again. I use them in my garden, potted plants, and in my mom's flower bed (she doesn't always remember to water her flowers). They work especially well for plants in clay pots, as the clay seems to absorb some of the water. My cats find them interesting and I often find them playing with them. No doubt my daughter (when she was younger) would have had the same interest in them as my cats, although they are non-toxic so I don't worry about them eating or playing with them.

Awesome & Perfect!
Purchased these for an upcoming wedding. They work perfect. Stayed wet very long and did not take forever to swell. I have not used the bulk of them as the event has not occurred yet. I did measure out a very small amount like 1 teaspoon and put it in 1 or 2 cups water to see what the ratio I would need for the size I wanted to achieve. Definitely swell in smaller batches because they will grow tremendously. Maybe from a 1-2 mm ball to about 8-10 mm. Very bouncy too so careful when pouring or scooping.

Winning Purchase
I absolutely LOVE these for my centerpieces when I am hired to do events. They are easy to submerse in water and then slowly grow larger and prettier. In this pic they are only about 50 percent of the size they will expand to. And I love the fact that I can pour out the water when the events are over, place a piece of Saran Wrap over the tops of the vases and, over time they will shrink back down to their original size. From there, the next time I want to use that vase all I have to do is add water to the case the night before and by the time I arrive at my event, the beads are full sized and gorgeous again! This is a winning purchase!

Awesome and Great Value!
I used these beads in the centerpieces for a wedding rehearsal dinner. One small packet created 12 large ziplock bags of beads (see photo), so I had plenty of beads to fill 8 large centerpieces with a few bags left over. To expand the beads, I filled a large cooler halfway up with water and added the packet. After a couple of hours, the cooler was dense with beads so I added more water and kept on doing this until there was a layer of water at the top. I found that scooping them with a hand strainer and pouring them into plastic ziploc bags worked great for transport. I used a large funnel to add them to the vases outside the event. I had many compliments on the centerpieces (see photo). Next time I'm also going to add tiny lights in the vases with the beads!
