VERY shaky "on it's feet". Not solid. Otherwise - good.

Super easy to assemble. Doesn't even need instructions, in my opinion. I love this piece. The wood is thick and sturdy and can stand alone without needing any mounts. Ideal for renters. Update June 2024: I've moved apartments since buying this bookshelf and it survived the process very well. Although it's made in China, I'm still surprised at the high quality of this piece. The style is timeless and works just about anywhere. Nothing about this feels cheap and flimsy. It was definitely worth the money. It wobbles a little bit from side to side but I'm not concerned about it toppling over.

I bought this to make a bedroom Harry Potter themed for my family and I have to say it's very brilliant. The look and feel of it is perfect. I just wish they would make large bookshelves in the style I would buy them super fast.

Toscana included plastic plugs for the screw holes. Ugh! I purchased this same bookcase a few years ago and it is lovely, and has wooden screw hole covers that match perfectly with the beautiful finish. This new one with plastic covers cheapens the whole bookcase, as you can see from the photos. This new bookcase was much more expensive than the last AND had lesser quality. Such a disappointment.

The overall construction is sturdy and very handsome. The instructions are exceptionally easy to understand and frankly aren't even necessary as assembly is so simple and intuitive.
