My “go-to” provider for all my media.

I rinsed the product out, or so I thought. After placing it within my reactor it made more dust, and more until I had to shut off, rinse again and put fine micron bag filters to eliminate the dust. Skimmer was working overtime. Rinsed again, still dust, and I’m talking about enough dust that you couldn’t see the other side of a 24” deep tank. Tank is a mess. I’m talking a ton of dust so I think the GFO is more or less being dissolved or pulverized, this isn’t just dust from settling in shipment - no way.

Worst GFO I have ever used. Rinsed, rinsed and rinsed. Clouded my tank after rinsing for 1 hour. Caked up the sponge filters in my reactor. All my filter soaks clogged from dust. It just kept breaking down. Seems like a powder that is pressed to simulate a good quality GFO.

I wanted to try and get something a little cheaper then the bulk reef supply GFO. I tried this stuff and I'm not sure it even removes a little phosphate.

After using the product for a month and sifting through all the dust..I can say this product is not of the highest quality you'd expect for the price. Over half the product is a fine dust and finding a reactor to hold the tiny little particles is a pain. I was not expecting to have to revamp my GFO reactor to suite this product.
