Good solution if disabled - but hoist might be needed
Update: I’ve just been all over Paris on this - all day every day. It’s great. The autofold came in very handy when it wouldn’t fit in a very small elevator. It is a minefield finding the right mobility scooter to take in a car. Where I live I can't just go out on a bigger scooter - it needs driving somewhere first. So I looked at quite a few folding "boot scooters" and this one is the best for me - although we will need to get a hoist fitted in the boot, which is extra cost. I have bad knees, wrist issues and a bad back sometimes - so the fact this is autofolding is brilliant. The problem with the lightweight manual fold ones is - a) they're still not that lightweight b) you need to be able to bend and twist stiff knobs etc. I wanted this for travelling abroad, but also for regular use at home. Originally I . wanted an MLite/Minimus scooter - it is one of the lightest folding scooters. But folded up, still too heavy for either me or my 70 year old partner to lift. Also the bending to assemble was an issue for me. There are some a bit lighter now - about 15 kg - which can be heaved into a car boot by putting the front wheels on the edge of the boot and lifting the back end. That still isn't doable for me. So once I realised we were going to need a hoist whichever one we got - the weight of the scooter wasn't the deciding factor. I love the Elite Autofold, simply because it autofolds! The only person who can lift it is our strong, fit 16 year old, and even then he can only hold it for a short time and probably a bit much to lift into a boot. It's 26kg. So if anyone thinks it will be easy to lift in and out of a boot you either need to be strong and fit, or need two people to lift it in and out each time. I wanted some independence and to be able to go out on my own sometimes, so we will get the hoist as well - despite the extra cost. So pros and cons:Mostly Pros and no real cons - the only issue I had at first was with the seat back rest. It is padded, as is the seat. However the foam stops short of the base of the seat and when I was sitting the hard bottom plastic edge hurt my back. Now this didn't affect anyone else who sat on it! Only me - maybe my back is an odd shape - but it's something to be aware of. At first I thought I couldn't keep it. But someone suggested getting a sheepskin to drape over the seat back and seat and that solved the issue! The sheepskin just gave that extra bit of comfort and padding without bulk. I can highly recommend it for any scooter seat! The back rest is quite upright, as mentioned elsewhere, but that wasn't a problem for me and it does give a bit backwards if you lean on it. I love, love, love the autofold! No bending or awkward assembly or stiff knobs to turn. The tiller is easy to raise up and down while sitting on the scooter - just a clip which isn't too stiff and quite easy to use. And also a little lever to adjust the rake of the tiller to the angle you want. Also easy to use while sitting. Other than that, the suspension is a bonus for comfort and it's solidly built and worth the money - there are some that are a lot more expensive. It goes - it's a mobility scooter and seems very much like others I've used before in that sense. The seat height is good and easy to get on and off the scooter even without the arm rests. I found the seat on the MLite/Mininus quite low (also it rocks forwards a bit) and that is more strain on the knees for standing up again. I can't fault this scooter - other than the fact they could have made the foam padding go down an inch further on the seat back! This may not be noticeable to some but if it feels hard - get a sheepskin!I highly recommend this scooter - mine was from Mobility solutions direct. But please be aware you would probably need two people to lift it in and out of a boot - or a hoist. It was definitely the best choice for me and I looked at quite a lot of different folding scooters. The lightest ones seem extremely flimsy and cost more than this one. We're going abroad on holiday soon so I'll update and hope it doesn't get damaged! I have taken out scooter insurance with Surewise, just in case!

Handy for travelling
I am very wary with this my back wheel hit a hole and it threw me off.Not recommended for well built people. If you are on the level with no bumps or holes in the path it is fine but I am now very cautious.Folds up and unfolds easily enough

Absolute rubbish
Not good. Died after 800mtrs. Had to carry it back to the car. Battery was - allegedly - fully charged. 9.5 mile range? Downhill with a following wind if the hill is long enough. Not impressed

Great scooter.
Love this scooter, it's given me my freedom back. We are NT and HHA members, and due to heart problems I was finding it difficult to go round the houses and then round the gardens. I needed a scooter that could handle difficult terrain, along rough paths and up and down gradients. This scooter is brilliant. It folds and unfolds at the press of a button. Three things to be aware of, it is quite heavy 27kg, my husband lifts it in and out the car and up any steps. It stops in really thick gravel. And if you drive sideways on a steep slope it can tip sideways. But these are things you get use to. I like it because it's small and looks neat. It can also go quite fast.

You cannot get any support for this lovely scooter
I’m a scooter user, and recently needed to start using a self open/close mechanism. I searched all scooters and selected the Drive Devillbis auto folder. It was brilliant for the first 18 months, until I had an argument with a solid engineering brick, and broke the front steering and suspension on the left hand side.I tried to get help from the company who sold it to me, but to no avail. I then tried the importers, and their help was “try and find a dealer who does repairs”. I could not find one. I am insured, but I don’t know how I can get on with making a claim.
