Blows away high-speed steel inserts
I replaced high-speed steel inserts with these, I'm planing 100 plus-year-old painted oak barn siding. These have lasted for dozens of pieces with no signs of performance degradation. It's making this tough job a joy.

Make sure of the size
I put these in my Steel City surface planer (13”) and the work great. However, I made a mistake in previously ordering another company’s knives which were slightly smaller at 14 mm. Both were advertised as “14 mm” . But the true size of these knives are 14.3 mm which was the correct size for my machine.

Advertised to fit my exact rikon 6” jointer. There are 10 in a box. Jointer takes 12. New ones cut at a different height than the old ones so you have to replace all twelve so you need to order 2 packs. If you chip one there’s a good chance you’ll have to replace them all. Cutters are good so order enough to change them all and you’ll have some spares.

Do not buy if you have a PL1326
The item description says it’s compatible with PL1326. Which if true would be the only carbide version I can find. However the cutters do NOT seat uniformly, which means you’ll have an incredibly poor surface finish. The diameter of the cutout for the screws does not seem to be correct so when tightening the screw it slips the cutter out of square.If you’re like me and you’ve been looking for carbide version of these cutters… keep looking.
