The Value Is Found In The Variety
I have to say I loved this sample pack. I didn't love it because the cost per ounce was incredible. I also didn't love it because of the portion or amount in each container, no I loved it because it delivered as it was expected to deliver. As I began to look at the different "flavors", I made a list of the ones I knew I would love, and these were added to my wish list prior to Christmas. Clearly, I was offering an easy win for those who were interested. Then, I saw this sample set. I removed those I placed on the wish-list and decided to let the sample kit ride. I can tell you that the ones I thought I would love, I didn't. In fact, those that I had overlooked based on their description, ended up being real treats. This is the purpose of a sample pack-to try out all the "flavors" without being tied down the buying them all.If you do the math(13 containers of .5tbsp each; 3.25 oz total), $31.93 breaks down to $9.82/oz, and that is expensive. Yet, any time you don't buy in volume, it is going to cost more. If you buy the large 5.3oz tub for $16.99, the shaving cream is 3.21/oz. If you buy the 2.5oz tube, it will cost $14.47 or $5.79/oz. The smaller tub which cost $12.98, holds 2.03oz and is 6.39/oz.Again, a sample pack is not about economy buying, it is about having the luxury to try everything you can so your next purchase or purchases will be based on what you like and not taking a shot in the dark. This is where the value of this purchase is found. If I purchase 4 more tubs, they can be the ones I most want. They will be the ones I want the most, not a guess. But this review does not stop here.West Coast Shaving has provided good containers that can be used again, for travel or whatever else you might dream of. The containers are clearly marked, but not necessarily permanently. Moreover, WCS has a good reputation as being a reliable and trustworthy seller on Amazon and their website. For those who have offered 1, 2, or 3 star ratings, the concerns have been over value and the size of the sample container. I have stated my thoughts on the "value". The size of the container should not matter. One does not dip their brush into the container to "load" their wet brush, instead an amount the size of an almond is placed in the bowl/scuttle(this assumes the use of a moderate sized badger brush). In this case, more than 4 portions are in the container. As an added plus, those scents you don't care for can become "lather practice" portions.

I Love This Shaving Cream
I was told by a friend that this is a great shaving cream to use for wet shaving. I have been using Van Der Hagen, which has been fine, no complaints with that product.Tonight I tried one of the samples and I loved the scent I picked (almond), I loved the lather that was created which in turn made for a great shave. This my 1st time using this product and I will definitely be buying more. I look forward to trying all the other scents that was included.ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 9/24/2022: I have been trying out the shaving cream samples since August and I have finally finished testing them all. I only shave twice a week, so it took a little time. These samples are good for 1-3 shaves, but you have to limit how much you use and it may not lather up as much if you used a normal amount to shave. This shaving cream is for wet shaves, which you can use with cartridges, safety razors or strait razors. Of the scents that I tried out, there were only 4 that I did not care for which was St. James, Mr. Taylor, Grapefruit and Coconut. The two that was my top favorites was Almond and Sandalwood.A full container of shaving cream (5.3 oz) is only $15 to $20 on Amazon. This is a worth while product, especially if you are wanting to get away from the canned shaving cream.

Tiny Amounts Recieved
Looks as though an aftermarket seller puts small amounts of each shaving cream into baby cannister. At over $30 id expect to have at least as much as a full sized container. See photo for reference.

Not a good way to sample
Do not expect to get the same shave experience with these. You cannot get a brush in the containers and so far none of them have lathered like a true Taylors container. You can smell them and rub them on with your fingers. Thats about it. When they arrived in an envelope in the mail box, I knew I had screwed up as several lids were off and you can't be sure which ones they go on. The sample amount in each container did not seem very consistent. Overall, pretty crappy way to sample them. Do not waste your time with these

Minuscule amount & cheap packaging
I use Taylor of Old Bond regularly. I ordered the sampler to try many scents.First, the pictures are a bit deceiving. The first picture shows the nice packaging and ample amount provided by TOB. The later picture shows what you’ll receive, and it is SKIMPY!The containers are quite small, difficult to open, and come half filled. If you’re lucky, racy container is enough for two decent lathers. Additionally, the paper stickers fall off when they get wet (it is a wet shaving product) leaving you a mystery shave. This is not a $30+ value.

So helpful
Very happy with this sampler. Has kept me from making some buying mistakes. And I'll bet, as I try more, it might help me to discover some fragrances that I would like, but would have never guessed it.Eton College was the one I really wanted to try. I scooped up 1/3 of the container to put in my shaving bowl, and generated so much lather that it leads me to think that one could easily get 4 generous shaves out of each container, if the quantity was as consistent as this one.Side Note: That Eton College test was the first time I used distilled water to soak my brush in and then to generate the lather. And wow. What a difference. I have hard water, and the difference in lathers is remarkable. I've used jermyn St and St James (with hard water) and have never been able to whip up a lather that 1) had the sheen i so often hear about in the youtube vids, as well as 2) a rich texture that was more like yogurt. So if you're going to test out some, try distilled water. It's only a buck at walmart.
