Temp Control Does Not Work
I purchased this to warm hot glue so I could make floral arrangement. However the temp control does not work properly. Even moving the temp controller to the lowest setting, it still heats as if on high. I do not recommend this product.

After reading the reviews, I made sure I located the fire extinguisher before plugging this in. I also hooked up a power meter to it, so I could monitor the watts it was using. Task was to fry an egg. I put a little oil in the pan and turned the knob up to medium. The power showed 600 watts for about a minute and then zero. I waited a minute, but it stayed on zero. The oil had melted, so I added the egg. Turned it up to full power. The watts went back up to 600, but it kept flipping every second or less to 100, 0, 300, 600, 423, 0... Eventually the egg cooked, but not at all nicely. The nonstick coating didn't bubble or peel or separate during this first use. I had it on a nonskid neoprene mat on top of a padded stove mat to protect the counter. The instructions say don't immerse the skillet, so I'll just leave the cord attached. It's too difficult to get on and off. The printed instruction sheet is useless and uninformative. I think this is the unit with the non-answers from the seller. Sounds like the same person who wrote the instruction sheet. This power unit is different than the picture. It has a flimsy button to lower the retaining bar instead of the flip up little white handle. I figure the button would go bad quickly.BTW, the knob did have token temperatures printed on it. Two or three. Not accurate, though.I would NEVER recommend this for an elderly or handicapped person who needs something safe.I grabbed this because it was the cheapest, but it'll be in the dumpster as soon as I scrape up a few more $ for one that works right. It's not worth the gas to drop off at UPS. Next project is to brown a cup of steel cut oats. It's the reason I needed a cheap pan temporarily. I'm not optimistic.

Need a handle that's not the cord.
I like that is small, doesn't take up much room. It could have a separate handle . When you pour the food out you only have the handle cord.
